i have been taking 12.5mg of androcur a day for 6 weeks now for the second time arround. Actually what you are feeling is called Phantom Limb not Phantom Pain BIG difference as I well know being a Transfemural Amputee. However with an intact member with no nerve damage it would not be either actually.

Phantom pain has many causes from nerve damage at the amputation site to the mind actually playing tricks.

Phantom Limb on the other hand has NO structural cause but is totally in the mind. It can be overcome with concentration and in some cases mirror tricks with the whole limb being reflected in a mirror, albeit this would be a real tough thing with a penis.

In some cases TPI (Trigger Point Injections a process where anesthetics are injected directly into the trigger nerve) stops Phantom Pain , however not on true phantom limb. TPI does work on structural phantom pain in this case it is generally from a condition known as Neuroma where the severed nerves try to regenerate but instead form a ball that is extremely sensitive to any stimuli.

I have this condition in my residual limb.

any way hope this clears up the difference Phantom Limb and Phantom Pain are two separate things and not always related.
