Re: are eunuchs depressed and suicidal
I was never depressed following my accidental castration. It did take some time to accept and adjust to being a Eunuch. I was in my twenties and sexually active and all of this is gone forever. I could have curled up in a corner or get on with life. I chose the latter and enjoy my new life and asexual state. The only regret I have is the possibility of being a father and passing on my genes is no more. As far as sex is concerned it never crosses my mind and I don't miss it. I have never thought of myself a being a man since I lost my balls and the all sexual function in my penis. I am a Eunuch and thats never going to change and I'm happy with what and who I am.

Re: are eunuchs depressed and suicidal
When your testicles are removed you'll experience a hormonal imbalance, testosterone plunges and estrogen surges or rises quickly. When this happens your body has to readjust and this takes time, lots of time. In the meantime, the chemical imbalances, rises in LH and FSH (Lutenizing and Folicle Stimulating Hormone) upset the bodies natural rythmn and these hormonal imbalances cause depression. I experienced it a day or two after being castrated and it can be deadly. It might not happen to every new eunuch, but it can happen and you need to be prepared for it. This depression is not something that occurs because one is saddened or regretful that they've been castrated, it's a hormonal imbalance that triggers depression. Now you might become depressed that you're no longer able to get an erection or realize that you've been castrated as a fetish, but that's not the kind of depression that normally follows castration. It's a chemical depression and it's a deep darkness that most have never ever faced before. You need to get help quickly when this happens. Call people, go to the ER, seek the help of your doctor or any one. I had to have some HRT replacement to stabilize my mind this depression is wickedly evil and terribly dark.

Re: are eunuchs depressed and suicidal
I get 'depressed' or rather foul-mooded once a month. I guess it's the same problem women have. I get angry and irretated quickly and bite at everyone that looks for trouble. It is then that I realize my T levels are down and need another injection of 2cc. A day or so later, I'm fine again for a few weeks. So, MY depression is not from missing my testicles but like Hash says above...hormones, man.
Still, one should think deeply about castration or penectomy. Sexual frustration can really lead to severe depression or suicide. Even an asexual nullo, like myself, do miss my penis at times, but it is my reasons for nullification and the fact that nullification feels great, that keeps me sane.

Actually my tendency is very much less depressive these days than before the Big Snip--I'm a bit slower overall but also feel a bit happier. Granted, external events may be helping a bit here. But also I feel like I'm finally beginning to make sense to myself.

Am I depressed? I don't think so. Removing frustration makes me think positively of the future which reduces any tendency toward depression.
