My favorite aunt always claimed that tea and beer ran through you faster than any other substances because they didn't have to change color along the way....

I haven't tasted soap since momma caught me cussing worse than her. Set her off when I started to chew that bar of Dial.

I can only drink north american beer if I'm really, really hot and thirsty... even then, just two and I feel like I have 10 pounds of lead in my stomach.

Guiness, that black swill from Ireland, has no carbonation; they use nitrogen instead, and voila, no bloated tummy! It's undrinkable unless ice-cold, however...

It's common here in Canada to make fun of U.S.A. beer as being weak, and to some extent our commonly-available beer does have a bit more taste, but the fact is, its the same alcohol content as its southern counterpart; 5% on average.

Except in Quebec, where you can buy such beers as "Maudite", which is 9% :o

Personally, I like Maudite, but my real preference is for La Fin du Monde. Of all the beers produced by Unibroue, that has to be my absolute favorite. (Although I do like everything they produce, at least everything I have tried so far, up to and including Terrible.) Ask anyone who knows me, and chances are they will tell you that I have sung the praises of Unibroue upon more than one occasion.

While beer in the US may be 5%, strangely it doesn't seem to have the same kick for some reason. I can personally attest that the one American beer I have tried (umm.... the name escapes me at present. Whatever it was that I had at the last MOM and is Talula's personal choice) really seemed closer to water than beer for me. I strive to be a cheap drunk, and yet half a two-four of that stuff was nowhere near as effective as a 6-pack of Molson.

The things I miss most about the U.K. ------BEER! And real PUBS!

Got hold of some Speckled Hen recently at a local shop. My friends spit it out and would not drink it. One made me chill it COLD and he still would not drink it :( Of course it's not the best beer from the U.K. but it's better than the yellow coloured water they call beer here!

Cheers!
