Altering the balance of hormones is a decades old technique for developing secondary sexual characteristics which are the opposite of a persons birth sex. A major part of 'drug' (maybe the wrong word) therapy for male to female transsexuals are pharmaceuticals which suppress a genetic males androgen/testosterone production. This, I suppose, allows the other part of the drug therapy (feminizing pharmaceuticals such as estrogen and progesteron) to do their work without conflict. I began a regime of progesterone and estradiol, administered transdermally, some months ago. While the final results wil take more time to show, up to now there has been continual changes to the femme side of my body. I am not taking any anti-androgens but have seriously considered an orchidectomy to address this shortcoming. At one point I had enough $ set aside for a procedure by Dr. Kimmel, but I put off any decision. Perhaps I have low T levels for whatever reaons, but given the effects I am experiencing without anti-Androgens having a snip(s) may be unnecessary for the reshaping of my body. It still appeals to my aesthetic side.
