If they have adhesed to the side of the inguinal canal, or the top of the scrotum, they can be painful, notable when you are physically active, but even when sedentary. Often react like a cramp or ligamentary pull. Removel requires surgery via lower abdomen. If not adhesed, forget about them.

I still have my cords, I'd rather have them gone but they cause no trouble so, as yet they are with me. --FLO--

Cord removal was a big deal for me. Orchialgia (Chronic Pain) is often tied into pain issues with the cords. They carry the nerve bundles and the cut end can dangle around causing trouble.

My pain doctor said to inject the cords with nerve blocks and cut as high up as you can. And the medical reports suggest that doing it inguinal style (Where you make the opening in the pubic area and not the scrotum and fishing out the cords and testicles and removing the whole works is the best. And btw if your a cancer patient this is how they always do it so surgeons are more apt to know how to do it that way correctly (An opinion)

BTW the reason to inject nerve blocks into the cords is to minimize the chance of phantom pains. Its an Amputation and the reports say this does help your chances of avoiding that.

My report is this is the way to go for Orchialgia and I'm glad this was the path that I took.

After castration I had no issues with my cords so they are still in my scrotum.

They were painful like that up until mid-November, and then for a few days it felt like I was being kicked in the balls continuously and my scrotum was very, very sore; then, after that, the pain disappeared and I've no longer had any pain in the scrotum at all.

If the cords have come free from where they were adhered to in the scrotum in that bad in any way? It certainly is nice to not have that scrotal pain any longer. :D

Why not ask your Doctor about a laproscopic removal? I think Jerry had his taken out that way after the Orchiectomy/ Jerry?? Are you monitoring?

For me I just had a simple castration where the testicles were remove through the sack. I looked at cord removal as having additional risk with little or no benefit. One cord pulled up into the groin shortly after the surgery. The other attached itself to the sack. It was somewhat annoying at times. If touched the wrong way it was unpleasant. As time passed it became an none issue. No longer have any type of discomfort when touching or moving the sack in any way. The sack is very much smaller. Long live the empty sack.

There's still the matter of the bill for my scrotal exploration to take care of. :) And if there's no risk with having free-floating cords flopping all around then screw it. :D
