Planning my funeral
Over coffee today my sisiter and I decided to pre-plan and pre-pay our funeral expenses. We are only 13 months apart in age which some call Irish twins. She smokes, I drink and we are both overweight diabetics so the time is now. I did consider burdening my younger, healthy and successful brother but out of concern for what he would choose for us we decided to pre-plan.
First and foremost I want my Urn to look like Jeannie's bottle on "I Dream of Jeannie". It is not important that I be cremated in her outfit just that I live in her bottle or a reasonable facsimile.
I do not want viewing hours prior to cremation. I want no locals poking me with a stick to ensure I have passed.
If my ashes are to be spread the grounds of a local winery would be a fine idea. They may also feel free to distribute some in the flower beds of the local McDonalds. Any other favorite eating spots could receive some ashes. I am sure there will be plenty to go around.
During any services I would enjoy a chamber quartet playing. I want no religious services. I want God surprised to see me. I have spent my life sneaking in back doors and hope this will continue to work for me. Once again do not warn the Big Guy.
Of course since the good die young I have many more years to go.

Ah jeeze, I was hoping you'd chose burial to crematiion that the EA menmbers can come and desecrate, oops, I mean consecrate your spot with both new and filtered beer.
However, if a fiery sendoff is what you's prefer, what not a Viking Funeral, minus the part where we sacrifuce a virgin. Besides, where would we find a virgin in your neck of the woods?

Would that be the bottle used in the cartoon intro or the prop bottle used during the live action sequences?

Re: Planning my funeral
In an article i read last year people have been caught and arrested dropping ashes in and around Disneyland. They had video of a women reaching into her purse then putting something in the water of Pirates of the Caribbean.
When my father died we had his body cremated we were told what we could do with the ashes; what we had to get permits to do; and what was not allowed, so perhaps you should check with the local crematorium.
I have seen recreations being sold online of the "I Dream of Jeanie" bottle, and someone I use to know had an antique that looked like the tv bottle but with no paint. So search around and find one.
One word of caution, make sure your family and loved ones know what your final wishes are! Why? because in the end they have the final say so as to what happens to your old body.

Re: Planning my funeral
Make darn sure your wishes as to how you want your cremains to be intered or disposed of in the fashion you wish is in your will. Do not trust that a family meber is going to carry out your wishes just becasue you asked them. I recently updated my living and last will and was told this on advice of my lawyer.
another unique way of handling cremains is a recent thing where they incorporate them into a crystal piece of art prices are very reasonable from a couple of huindred up depending on what the item is. I know of a place in Lemon Grove / three rivers Ca. that does this and a few in the East.
The issue I can see with Disney is that now that cremains are spread in that area it becomes a grave and cannot legaly be disturbed.
Me part in a sculputer the rest spread on my beloved Atlantic ocean.

Re: Planning my funeral
I made a bronze urn for my Grandmother's ashes. The cap is in the shape of a cinnamon roll, just like the ones she used to bake.

Re: Planning my funeral
Pre-plan, but don't pre-pay. Set aside a bank account of your own for that.
I'm going to be buried among my nutty relatives. I already have something of a music list put together; "Dream a Little Dream" is the opening number.
See you then HEHEH.

Re: Planning my funeral
I wish to be cremated and have my ashes thrown in the face of the county prosecutor. Feel free to desecrate that spot with new and filtered beer as Mac The Wolf suggests. --FLO--

Thanks Mac but I think I have been desecrated enough in this life. The filtered beer might be good for the flowers. I know what you mean about finding a virgin in this area. I do not have the energy to chase after one anymore.
