In the past there has been much talk about this...it has been said in the past that with out the nuts the dick has a harder time getting an erection plus it loses length....the further out in time (without the nuts) the harder it is to get and maintain an erection. From what I've heard and read, if you just get rid of the balls and keep the penis, when its done after puberty, youre still able to get aroused and hard and everything. It all depends on the individual. YMWV, as someone once said.
