Yeah, I'm not confident in the traditional medical community, especially since I live in a small, conservative Texas town. I'm even concerned about being turned away by Dr. Kimmel. Oh well, there's always Thailand!

Dr. Kimmel will most likely agree to remove it if you complain of pain. From my experience with him, he will put the patient first, and that means accepting & believing them.

Yep, castration does not sound like a bad idea when you feel like you have been kicked in the nuts 6 or 8 times a day every day. I still have pain once in a while but only on one side and its not as bad as it was. I am glad to have them gone, I have never missed them once.

Good luck to you,

River

My story is complex as any, and more than most. It was offered to me as the solution twice in my life, the first was at my original injury that fried them and i was a young minor and my mom rejected it, knot knowing what my future held. The pain stayed my entire life from age 8 more or less, the 2nd time i rejected it as a 17 year old young man not really realizing how much easier it would be, the idea of castration just put intense fear into me. Of course the doctor made no effort to explain im sterile and HRT and all that. I literally ran from his office.

Last July i was re-injured. I went from urologist to urologist begging for relief. I was literally tossed out doors. I thought i found one to do it, and right after the pre-op shave job, he fucked me and backed out.

This sent me into a spiral of depression, thinking life would never get better, the pain would last for ever.

Suffice to say i would up with a scrotal.

A few weeks ago my cords were lasered out.

the relief is so severe and total i almost cry at the thought of ever having that pain again.

The process to get help is as hard and torturous as the pain itself. Our medical care is about on the level women had in the back-ally abortion days. A man isn't supposed to have pain, he can tough it out, dont you know.

Mismatched, that's what i'm afraid of happening down here; I think your comparison to back-alley abortions is right on target. Unfortunately eunuchs don't have the numbers to support any wholesale change in the system that women were able to accomplish.

I really need the radical inguinal to be 100% free of pain. Testicular pain is not something I can simply tough out either. It really fucks up my day. Those organs are so sensitive for a reason, and you know personally how that kind of chronic pain can interfere with life. For me it's the pain, nausea, inability to focus and I get pissy too. I don't want to live that way. And I dread having to be at the mercy of our

I won't even mention orchi to my urologist.

I take some comfort in knowing I could probably do this overseas somewhere and be done with it without the red tape. I don't want to wait 6 months or a year to cycle through the system.

Anyway, thanks for your post.

I hope it helps to know its possible to do this in the system. There was a period where I was fed up and spoke to a couple of doctors across the USA. Dr Alter in California. A great guy. Dr Bowers in Colorado. She said that while she is more well known as a GRS (Sex Change) surgeon she would be willing to help me out. There are many others. The deal is that you probably do need to find a doctor that you can talk to. The first time you bring this up is difficult. I remember speaking to my GP about it and being pretty much mortified. Thankfully she is a great doctor and has a very good bedside manner. I had a doctor before her that simply would not do. I could not speak to him about any intimate stuff like that or ED etc. Fortunatly we live in a place where we get to choose. Maybe the sex of your MD is not the issue. If its just the wrong chemistry? So what? Get up... Get a new one.

Do understand that Orchialgia is not that common a problem. The run of the mill Uro who is busy handing out Viagra samples may have ZERO clue what to do. Thats one good reason to seek out one with lots of experience such as in a teaching hospital. And talking to the Triage nurse in detail about your problem, what you have tried and what you think is the next step before you set up a visit is so valuable.

And really there is nothing wrong with talking to Dr Bowers or Alter if you try all the non surgical options and just need an Orchiectomy. They clearly have a lot of experience.

Good luck! BTW did you look at the Orchialgia support group that I set up on Yahoo???

go here.

http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/Orchialgia/

Its devoted to Orchialgia. I wanted to set up a place for people with Chronic Medical pain to be able to talk about all the different treatments including Orchiectomy but not just that. It was a solution for me and others but there are other treatments well worth checking out.

Hey I'm not a doctor, but for want it's worth I am a nurse. You may want to ask your doctor about urgical denervation of the spermatic cord, it more or less blocks the nerve that receives the pain, it may be a nother option for you,and this way you get to keep the testy working as normal. hope this helps and wish you good luck and better health ether way you go
