Re: Principal busted for prostitution
I wonder what has happened, and what will happen to this guy.
Like I said before, I actually hope that he gets off the hook for the prostitution rap, but I really doubt he will.

I feel for Principal, his family and students. Happy to say that prostitution now legal here in Australian in all states but 1. Happy to say decriminalisation of prostitution has reduced number of 'innocent' people being charged and lived being ruined.

America, "The land of the free, and the home of the brave." We are soooooo smart, sooooooo big and powerful... So, we have the technological expertise to fly space shuttles, and to achieve soooo much. So WHY is it that the Australians clearly have us beat on sensable laws? The Cubans have us beat all to hell on the issue of health. The U.K, the Kingdom which our forefather's rebelled against, now offers it's citizens, or "subjects" more liberty, clearly more humane treatment than the U.S. offers it's citizens. Well, U.S. citizens can still own machine guns, yeah, that really means a lot to me, can't even afford a good shotgun much less a machine gun.
I can see, in many ways, U.S. citizens do in fact enjoy greater freedoms in some areas, but it just gets me angry, when I see that our government (federal, state and local) is so clearly at odds with it's citizens. Seems to me we waste so much of our tax dollars ruining the lives of our taxpaying citizens. There is REALLY something fundamentally flawed in our whole way of looking at crime, justice and punishment. Our law enforcement is clearly much better at catching the normally law abiding citizen who makes an occaisional mistake, than it is at catching the career criminals who clearly intend to steal, rob, and do harm to others.
All I can figure is that the average cop would much prefer to confront and arrest an unarmed, non violent citizen. That is so much safer, easier, and more profitable than confronting a dangerous criminal.

Topping tonight's news broadcast....
Cops sitting on their butts in front of the computer posing as johns and setting up sting operations to bust prostitutes who use the internet instead of the street corner. Gee I thought the point of busting prostitutes was to get them off the street corner.

Jemagirl, I soooooo agree with what you just said there! I would "add to your reputation points" but it says I must spread some reputation around before giving you anymore.

Re: Principal busted for prostitution
The prostitution laws here in America are a bit silly. I think that other countries have a much better and enlightened grasp on the subject. In some european countries, it is regulated to ensure cleanliness and safety and it also becomes a taxable source of revenue.
I always thought it was odd that it was perfectly ok for sex to be free but not ok to charge for it. :-\
