The Calm Future - OTC Libido Suppressors
As a mental exercise, imagine a future where there is available an inexpensive non-permanent-effect over the counter (OTC) libido suppressing drug for men. Imagine that it works for a day per pill or a week per pill or some fairly short period. Imagine also that the society has changed enough that it is acceptable for men not to be interested in sex all the time. What kind of market do you think would exist for such a product? Would it have any effect on alcohol or drug consumption? Any other side effects, such as women would become more relaxed around men etc.?
Personally, I imagine that drug and alcohol consumption among men would decrease somewhat and men would find other hobbies besides internet porn, drinking, etc. Being a little extreme, we can even imagine this as the beginning of "Men's Liberation", not from women, but from the demands of sexuality.

Re: The Calm Future - OTC Libido Suppressors
I think it would be something women buy to spike in their men's food/drink. Most men don't see their libido as a problem or would want to take anything that would affect it. I don't think us folks that come here are indicative of what the vast majority of males would be remotely interested in...

Batman, good points.
It would be an interesting change to be able to condentrate without the little head trying to take over though. If they did come out with pill that would knock out libido for a week or month, I'd try it.
If it weren't for some of the negatives associated with the loss of testosterone, I'd seriously consider going nullo.

...
Batman, that is certainly the traditional view, but what if we here are just the tip of a very large iceberg? Actually it doesn't have to be that large - even 10% of the male population would be a huge market. And think of the times when you'd just like to mind your own business, do something fun instead of following the little guy around? Or of the times when your spouse or gf is distant, unavailable, etc. - what a relief!

The only problem is most guys LIKE following their little guy around and until they've had chemical castration they cannot appreciate how little time they would be doing that...
Not to mention how much money I saved during that time - not buying dinners or dating - saved a TON of money!!!

"but from the demands of sexuality."
Some people may not want their men liberated from that.

Re: The Calm Future - OTC Libido Suppressors
well i could see such a drug being able to be made, and i see how it could be marketed. Im sure many guys would try it jsut out of curiosity and wind up likeing it, and alot of wives might abuse it and slip it to their husbands. I dont think there is any real research into it so i doubt we will see such a product any time in our lives...

It's not my libido that bothers me so much, but all of the other effects of testosterone, such as beard growth, hairy body, male pattern baldness. Basically I want a maleness suppressant and if I can get one over the counter that would be great.
