Bilateral orchiectomy procedure pictures

Post by SplitDick (imported) »

Here are some good pictures of a bilateral (both balls) orchiectomy. It is particularly interesting because they are healthy balls that need to be removed for prostate cancer control:

This one is even better as it shows close ups. It was done for a tumor (look at the size of the tumor when they cut it open!).

And another one from the same site:

Yeah, I am looking forward to it! However, I am not quite as happy with the inguinal (through the groin) removal procedure -- I thought it would be through the scrotum. I am not sure why the groin procedure is more popular, because it looks more invasive. However, I guess the reason is that they can remove the whole ligaments, etc. that extend into the abdomen, so I guess it results in more complete removal. I wasn't looking forward to "bikini-line" scars.

I know its been a while and the links are no longer good. Is it possible to send the pictures to Slammer so he could add them to the EA Pictures pages?

Inguinal is a better way (I think) because you remove the testicles and most of the cords. The cord ends thus are not dangling around trying to reconnect causing pain. Because more of the nerve bundles are removed there is less of an issue with future pain. The scars are all in the pubic hair area so they should be pretty well hidden btw.
