Pre-existing Conditions

Post by Beau Geste (imported) »

I read Plix's thread about his difficulties in finding a testosterone level that he's comfortable with, and I have to wonder if the difficulties don't actually come from something in his physical makeup that was there long before his orchiectomy. This raises the question of what effect orchiectomy, or testosterone reduction or increase in general, has on physical conditions which were there before the change in hormone level. If I have read correctly, I think one archive member had severe back pain before his orchiectomy--I wonder if there was any difference in that after the surgery. Since a number of people who had orchiectomies, had them in middle age or later, I'd presume that some of those who had the surgery, had chronic health problems or at least annoyances, which were there before the operation. Of course, any experiences anybody had, with changes in physical condition after orchiectomy or after starting on testosterone-reducing drugs, would have to be considered only anecdotal evidence for effects produced by the surgery. But it would be interesting if anybody noticed changes, either positive or negative, in conditions which existed prior to the change in hormone levels.

Once rid of pain from my testicles I now have full realization of how much pain I have elsewhere. --FLO--

lol uncle flo, that may just be aging :) . lord knows this squirrel is getting up there in years. I feel the weather in my knees. Funny how the body can only receive one pain signal at a time. Clear one and move on to the next .
