Chemical libido reduction for teens
Way back in 1968, I was a teen myself.
I remember one hot summer nigth when I could not sleep from the heat and worked up hormones.
Dad was still up, reading a book. I did setle on the couch ,next to him , and started a father son dialogue.
I told him I felt quit horney and was anoyed by having to jerk off so much, wich also gave no real relief.
I asked him, If we could go to the doctor, to prescribe something for me.
Dad was not realy sympatical; his advice was that " it would go away of its own accord, surely, I did not have such a problem ? "
I was intimidated by his aswer, and the whole afair was forgotten.
Looking back in retrospect, I think I could have used some chemical help in libido reduction.
That was in 1968. How about 2007. ?
Are there among you who could identify with this (real) story ?
Have you a teen son who has made a similar request ?
What are todays posibilities to deal with such a situation ?
reducing, but not eliminating teen Libido.

Your story sounds similar to mine, but I couldn't get up the nerve to say anything to my parents....
Perhaps they should add saltpeter to all high school cafeteria food?

ALL,
I first started to masturbate at about 14. (I am now 73 and still a world class masturbator.) I found out how neat it was to come off in ladies underwear about that time. So I maintain that the best thing any young horny man in his teens can do is to learn the fine art of masturbation.
Does not get anyone pregnant. Does not lead to getting a sexually transmitted disease. Just plain fun. Good for a lifetime.
Regards,

First, saltpeter is potassium nitrate. It is NOT an anaphrodisiac. It is used in veterinary medicine as a diuretic, but can be very harmful to the kidneys in humans.
Potassium bromide has been used to suppress the sex urge in a dose of 10 grains in a glass of water. It is a "calmative", similar to a tranquilizer. However, prolonged use is stupifying and it can be mildly addictive.
The best remedy for the rampant teenage libido, as Glenda said, is masturbation. Whatever it may lack in quality can be more than compensated for in quantity. There is no such thing as excessive masturbation. It has NO harmful effects and should NOT be discouraged. In fact, it should be encouraged, not only in teenagers, but in adults as a means of population control.
Unfortunately, at least two religions vehemently oppose masturbation. So, if you are a Roman Catholic or a Mormon, SUFFER ! Suffering is supposed to be good for your soul, anyhow.

When the UK had National Service, which thankfully finished just before I got old enough, bromide was added to the diet of the lads to curb the masturbation that happened every night in the barrack huts.
Muslim boys and girls are forbidden masturbation. Early marriage is their answer!

I hope your kidding?! I think there is a thread of "anti sexuality or is it anti male?" Yes, young men going through puberty can be rude and crude. The think is that maturing is what the goal / point should be.
I dunno. This is more complicated then this...

I do not believe that it would be a good idea to put male teens on chemical castration drugs as a standard proceeding.
But providing a means of libido reduction ( not total chemical castration) for those who are troubeled by their sex drive.
There is quit a taboo on that subject, while I feel it should not be.
Besides, what is the opinion of the teens on this ?
Are there members on this forum, who have stories of teens who did requeqst a libido reducing drug ? ( rather than forcing it on a teen )

Re: Chemical libido reduction for teens
Being realistic despite the topic is taboo, I am not sure if giving opportunity of T lowering drugs for teen boys. It is not known how it could affect their fertility, it is not known how these drugs could affect their growing up.
Even if long term effects of these drugs on teens were well known and there were some drawbacks, like danger to loose fertility for ever, teenager has no right to decide over his body. He could later regret his decision.
Normally everybody regret his decisions in the past, but teens are not fully developed yet. They often make wrong decisions. And drugs could have some irreversible side effects.
So either there should be somebody beside a teen helping him to make a right decision or such kind of decisions must be postponed till the right age.
I remember myself as a teen. I had thoughts many times about stopping puberty or at least delaying it. But these were just thoughts immediately thrown away as unrealistic. If I was aware of drugs and if I had somebody beside me I could have used some benefits of T lowering drugs.

I don't know what you are complaining about. The "Do nothing and it will go away" was good advice. He could have taken the hedge clippers to you and helped out with a little pruning.
I guess when I think about it it could make a good story line for anyone so inclined. Any one want to try??
