'Roger the Eunuch' on BBC Radio 4
Roger, aka 'The Fraj' was interviewed on BBC Radio 4 (Britain's best Radio network) this morning, and gave a very good account of himself. Well done that young man!
This was a magazine programme - 'Saturday Live' - see the website -
http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio4/saturdayliv ... 0811.shtml
It should be possible to use the 'listen again' feature on the website, but it doesnt seem to be working at the time of writing.

I listened at about 9:30pm. Very interesting, I don't feel the way he did about himself. I wonder what that says about me?

Re: 'Roger the Eunuch' on BBC Radio 4
Thanks everyone
I only found out about this program by phone about 25 minutes before it went on air! I strongly recommend listening, as its probably far better than any of the others. (Thankfully!) It was pre-recorded so it flows much more easily and without hesitations compared with all the others which have been 100% live and completely unrehearsed.
We (as with any community!) are very diverse and although we can be divided in many arbitrary ways; our reasons for castration, our precieved gender identity and our backgrounds and so on. I like to think the things that brings us together are far stronger. You are all lovely and gentle people and people I consider myself very lucky to be able to meet in a little under a weeks time!
We all want to have our testicles removed, some of us want to have our penises removed. I'm sorry for anything I've ever said in which I was judgemental as I am sorry for any time I have written words in anger.
I'm very lucky that everyone around me, at work, at home, in my town. All know about me. For some reason it means a lot to me. I guess being a eunuch is part of my identity on some level. But I know that not everyone is the same!
(I suppose is what I'm rambling about! LOL)
I'm sorry for every time I've written words in anger. I love and accept you all.

I think Roger should be our new cover model. Put him on the front page petting a goat and wearing a top hat and monocle.

It is, indeed, a very fine interview.
If you prefer not to listen through the entire one hour program, the segment with Rog begins at about 30 minutes and 30 seconds in. Keep listening after it finishes at 40 minutes and 45 seconds. There is a brief commentary by Stella Duffy, another guest, about the novel that she is currently writing about Narses.
Again, Rog comes across as the intelligent and thoughtful person that he is.

What time in the one hour show is the section on the eunuch? I don't want to wade throught the whole show.

Now keep in mind that I don't normally quote Jesus but...
