What info should be in the new personals?

Post by Bboy »

We are having a lot of trouble decising what to include in the new personals program.

I would like your input on information and features you would like to see available.

Here are mine:

I am interested in people's sexual biographies/histories ~ how they became interested in castration, how they learned to masturbate, that kind of thing.

Some other common ones are:

Piercings, genital mods, other body mods, etc.

So help me out here will ya???!!!

First jack off ... rather, first successful orgasmic jack off ...

favorite masturbation aids/toys, when/if?

wet or dry / age?

rate thereafter?

first castration fantasy / thoughts + method?

hmmm, penis size (hard?) / circ'd or not / circ'd when?

uhh, pain threshold? Low/med/hi/NA

desiring castration, penectomy, full nullo or GRS? (installation of vagina, i.e. 3TB character Blaine)

:p

The things I would like to see improved are:

1.) Better handling of age (Some of the entries haven't been updated in a while the their age is out of date) I think that putting the person's birth date in, along with a checkbox that the user could select to allow other the option to view birth date.

2.) The location field needs to be broken up into 3 fields: Country, State/providence and City. This would make it easier to search for people by location. (Some people use the 2 abbreviation for the state and others spell the name out fully, so you end up doing 2 searches and having to weed through unwanted entries most of the time when using the states abbreviation.)

3.) The search by age feature need some improvement to make it more user friendly. I don't think most people know that they need to enter a range, especially when searching for people that are a certain age.

Some thing that could be added include:

A.) Sexual orientation

B.) What their ideal castration fantasy involves.

C.) Other sexual and non-sexual activities that they enjoy

D.) Fields for Yahoo, AOL and MSN IDs.

I'm looking forward to seeing the new personals up and running.

OK, very interesting to say the least! I personally watch the Personals often, and find some very interesting individuals there - many I'd love to meet, or at least correspond with on a first name basis (as opposed to a formal one w/o any names and just a .....oh well, I think ya get the picture...🙄

How about some of these?

If someone is looking for a lover to accept them after they have what they are looking for.

Perhaps whether they have ideas of whether they want to have sexual activity after say a penectomy, or castration, and whether they will want to have HRTs to supplement their otherwise 'flagging' abilities...

Are they looking for someone to castrate - either for themselves as a partner/lover, or just for the interest or 'professional' side of their desires. Oh, and whether they have any experience (although, THAT might open a can of worms best left closed and sealed up for eternity!).

Of real interest to lil ole me is whether someone would look here in the EA for someone to have a relationship with, either in a fantasy P&C (as opposed to a D&C - which I'm sure Kelly2 will be very happy to do without...hehehe🙄 ) - or in a real situation where one or both of them (or more???) would proceed with the surgical/or personal prefference fulfillment.

Maybe we could have a 'Match-Maker' type of board.....ya never know what will happen, but therein lies the surprises and intrigue.

OH, and whether their first experience (or any that followed) were brought about by a relative (sounds like me again, ooooops, sorry there folks, meant this to be objective😱 ), or from a friend - close or otherwise, or whether it developed because of an inner desire to do something either "strange" or "different", or even "daring", to some extent and it progressed from that point forward to today.

OK, enough already!!! With all the ideas so far, we may have to put in 2 Boards.....hmmmmmmmmmm, now where did I put that calculator...gotta figure out the bandwidth THAT might take!! tee hee:tongueout

Love ya!!

Bboy--

I think the suggestions that have been presented by the other users pretty much cover it. The one thing I've noticed when I gothrough the personals now is that it displays them 5 at a time.

Perhaps an option to display them in larger groups would be good. Maybe 10-15 at a time.

The search feature for reality and fantasy towards reality needs to be fixed. When I have told it to give me the guys who want reality, it gives me the fantasy reality guys and the reality. I hope that isn't confusing.

That is all that I can think of for now. Thanks for the good work you put into the archive.

I would also like to see the information that Bboy and Paolo mentioned. I am a bit confused by luvpain's comments about age becoming outdated: in the Edit Profile screen, I see no fields for age, just the birthdate fields. I would agree that there should not be an age field that can become out of date.

I would like to see more flexibility in entering birth date. Currently, I can enter either a day and month, or a complete date, but if I try to enter just the year, the form seems to accept that, without giving me a validation error message, but the information is never entered. In this dangerous world, where identify theft is a real threat (especially since anyone willing to make the effort could cross-reference my nickname -- PeterSJC -- with information I have entered in other fora, to derive my real name and location), I would prefer not to have my real birthdate viewable, and frankly I am not that crazy about people knowing my birthday. I would, however like to enter the year of my birth, so people can know how old I am.

On the other hand, other people might want to enter just the month and day of birth, so that the BBS calendar will show their birthday. At present, this is possible. I would like the Profile form to accept (and enter into the database) the month and day alone, the year alone, or the complete birthdate.

I realize this would mean that a search by age would not find someone who entered only month and day, but it is already the case that people who do not enter their birthdate at all are not found by such a search. There is a bit of ambiguity in an age search where someone has entered only the year (e.g., if I say I was born in 1961, am I less than 40 or in the 40-50 category, but I do not consider that a major problem).

I am not familiar with vBulletin, except from the outside, so I don't know if the software even supports this kind of flexibility. If not, that would be a good requirement for the vBulletin developers.

The personals section will be coded completely from scratch and won't be integrated with the profiles section here on the board, so your observations about birthdates are right on.

The only integration with vbulletin would be the username and password. The personals section will validate against the usernames and passwords stored for vbulletin so there won't be any need to re-sign up for something. Also, I can pull any relevant information FROM vbulletin into the personals, but wouldn't want to go back the other way because it would limit the flexibility of some of the data fields we want to capture.

My thought would be to have the person enter the full date of birth ... month, day, and year, and then have a checkbox to either display or hide the birthdate in the listing.

If the person chooses to hide the birthdate then only the calculated age would appear to the public.

Thoughts?

Bboy, yes, I like the idea of being able to check either the month/day field or the year field, or both.

In my earlier reading, I missed the fact that the Personals section was different from the Profile. Will some fields of the Profile be moved into Personals? If not, will there be separate searches for Profile and Personals information, or will the search engine combine both databases?

[Moving from Techie talk to the personal...]

Thanks for your response. The way you listened to me and made me feel as if my ideas were a useful contribution are good therapy to me in a somewhat stressful period.

Thanks,

peter

Bboy,

Your idea of how to handle the birthdays is exactly what I was trying to convey in my last post.

I do think petersjc has a valid point about being careful about giving out too much personal information. I myself try to only give out general information, but also supply information that most people want, such as age, sex, and general location. I don't give out the city that I live in but the nearest major city so that others have a general Idea of where I live.

The problem with personals is that you need to give out enough information to attract others. The trick is to find the right balance of personal information to put in, so that it is not easy for someone to get your real identity, but enough that others will want to contact you.

I know many people only what to meet with others in a certain age wange, others people like to find people that are close to them, and some people are most concerned other traits.

Yes, the birthdate should probably be kept out. I know when I answer questions like this online that I use a date that is in the right range, but not specific. In the USA a persons birthdate is one of the three "keys to the kingdom" as I like to call them.

The others are mother's maiden name and social security number. None of those EVER go out on the internet from me.

Perhaps a way to overcome this is the let a person enter the year and a 3 month window for their age. The computer could base the calculation on the age that way, and at most it would be 3 months off.
