Sounds good :) Keep in mind that weight loss is not an overnight thing. You shouldn't even be thnking about the progress you have made in that department until at least 6 months from now, preferably a year. Yes, you might lose water weight sooner than that, but permanent fat loss is what takes the longest. And of course the resistance training will help speed things along by increasing lean mass, which burns more calories.

Weight loss is actual not too much of a concern just yet, for reasons you have spoke of.

Shortly after I started resistance training I gained 4 pounds. All muscle mass I imagine. Muscle weighs much more than fat, so I'm more concerned with my dimensions more so that weight.

So today I had a my 3rd Personal Trainer appointment, but this time with a different trainer. A male guy with a pretty face on him. :-)

I told him I had a health issue that would affect my performance and I told him I was hypogonadic. I had to further explain -- from the looks on his face -- that I basically had little or no testosterone in my body and whatever a normal guy could do in one week, might take me a few weeks.

He didn't ask any questions, just accepted it. I think he adjusted my training session down a little bit because of me telling him that, I'm not sure though since I don't know what he had in mind to begin with.

I can say that I'm proud of one thing I did... I jogged one lap of the inner track of the gym (1/10 of a mile) in 53 seconds. The trainer even high fived me after I did that, both of us I think were impressed I pulled that off. :D

If you dont mind me asking, how much are you paying for the PT's?

Since I enjoy watching my health, exercising and eating right I considered pursuing a career as a PT, nutritionist, massage.. especially towards cycling or other endurance sports. Even my instructor in a college nutrition class said I'd be good at it. I'm kind of too far into my IT career to really want to start over again, although I may keep it under consideration. The thought of working with people that want to improve their health, or keep it, has a very appealing motive. Massaging some nicely toned bodies sounds pretty exciting too! :D Just have to keep from drooling all over them.

It's part of a package deal I got when I signed up. The normal fee schedule for a P/T there is $99 for 5 one hour sessions.

The P/T I'm seeing has asked that I start seeing him twice a week as thats how often he sees his 'regular' clients. That comes in at $150+/mo which I don't have available as disposable income.

I'm going to use up my 5 "free" sessions and that's it...

Good luck to you at being a PT.

You don't need to see him twice a week, that's excessive. You do need to GO at least that often, but only use a trainer one a week, for about 2 months, then just one a month for follow-up. If they won't accommodate that, then they are not about training they are about making money.

Your eunuch status has no bearing on the training session really, UNLESS you state your goal to be muscular growth, then it would be significant issue. For toning, and overall weight loss, the exercise and diet routine would be developed nearly the same for a man or a woman or a eunuch.

Having worked out in all differenent situations, I have finally figured out my physiology and what works for me. A noncastrated male, I work out a few times a week, sometimes as few as four somtimes as many as eight sessions. My workouts include running, bike riding, and weightlifting and a dip in the hot tub.

The advice thus far seems right on but do be aware of clicky gym culture and trainer rip offs. Find a gym where the management actively searches out all different segments of the population, a full service gym. (If available in your community). It is nice to see the impacted professionals, laid back retiries, super moms, college kids and boys all working out at the same gym, albiet at different times. Sometimes trainers can become a crutch of sorts, when you really need to get in there and work out on your own!

I always encourage people to understand nutrtion before going into a stressful excercise regime. When you stress a body, break it down, then build it up, you must know how to feed it. If you break it down and don't build it back up properly before returning in three days you will just be tired and unmotivated. EAT ENOUGH PROTIEN AND UNDERSTAND WHY AND WHEN TO! You can buy whey protien powder, which has all your amino-acids at a nutrtion shop or wally world. You guessed it whey is the substance that settles on the top when they spin milk. Curd is below that and contains the fats. Soy protien only has a minority of your amino-acids. Ever wonder why vegans have such bad hair despite eating all that tofu?

Running...is great is your a runner(hunter, extomorph, underweight etc.). My brother has done some serious damage running. He is a vegan that runs on his lunch hour! He does not do proper stretching, nor does he do strengthening excercise and his diet is just crazy. So running is a big commitment. As well as good nutrtion and rest you may need to do pelvic stabilzation work, squats and lower back work as well as gait training. In a runners gait the heel of your foot should strike first and gradually transfer all your body weight over the foot. Watch a sexy runner at the gym and how his foot strikes and his body moves! If you come down flat footed, IT IS VERY HARD TO RETRAIN YOUR GAIT. Basically what you are doing is coming down full force and transfering all that through your body...not good at all.

So I used to be a wonderfull runner, on a long run like a butterfly and in a dead sprint like a horse. Today I do not run much as the commitment is great. I simply ride a bike, not quite as intense as running but with less commitment!

Understanding how the liver works, fat storage and metabolism is also key.

Best of luck with your pursuit of health and happiness!
