I need a little help/advice.
I ruptured the tunica vaginalis surrounding my right testicle
on the 20th of March '07 during a moving accident.
I visited a general practitioner, was examined.
Apparently the doctor thought it was all in my head, I was told:
"I don't know what's wrong, just take an Aleve a day until the pain stops."
The Aleve didn't help at all, not to mention that there actually was a problem.
Now the small town that I recently moved to does not have a very large hospital, the nearest urologist is about a 2 hour drive away.
I was wondering, can a ruptured tunica be repaired or will I need to have the testicle removed? If it can be repaired is there a certain amount of time in which it's needs to be operated on before nothing can be done?
How much would it cost to be repaired?
And could I do it myself for a lot cheaper?
Thanks,
Samuel Hall

Re: Ruptured Tunica
Even though you said the nearest urologist is a 2 hour drive away, that is where I think you need to go, to a urologist. In fact, you probably should have gone to a urologist when you accident happened instead of going to a general practitioner.
Things involving the testicles are part of a urologist's specialty so a urologist would be the doctor who would know just what is damaged, how bad it is, how to treat it, and so on.
My suggestion would be for you to get an appointment with a urologist as soon as you can and get this taken care of properly. Also, keep us informed about how you are doing.
By the way, I noticed you just joined here, so let me also say, welcome to Eunuch Archive and our community here.
