What is wrong with the US?

I think the thing that is most fundamental wrong is that not enough of the population actually give a crap, seems many citizens only truly care about themselves. Much has changed in the US since the time of my father. Though the US is diverse, we seem to have gotten pig-headed and perhaps a bit too big for our britches. The current administration has made some very big and stupid mistakes. We look aweful to the rest of the world, like war-mongers. We were wounded at 9-11, but we should have planned a bit more and been more concerned about the peoples of American and those in friendly countries, instead of lashing out in apparent blind anger, turning the war away for the pursuit of freedom and more toward an occupation. I have faith in the heart of America, it's a wonderful country to live in, but it is getting kind of scary. Not long ago I heard of a journalist put in jail because he would not reveal his sources about something, crazy. And the dude who was linked to the terrorists who crashed those planes, he is an American citizen yet he has no defense and was given no trial, just locked up. Plus the fact that the captives in Guantanimo Bay are given better medical care than many American citizens, aren't they the enemy? There are so many wars to be fought here at home, rather than a world away. Poverty, injustice, rapes, child molestations, hate, anger, fear, all these things need attention here and now, but all the money is going to Iraq. Don't get me wrong, I think the men and women of the armed services are brave and what America is all about, but they are fighting in the wrong place.

Illegal immigrants are plaguing this country. Taking money from those who rightly deserve it.

I hate all the violence in the world. It is such a tragic feel I get when I hear of innocent people being killed, and for what? Religion? Money? Oil? Hatred?

One of the other things wrong is the political system, it seems completely geared around money and the independent power of the politician.

I could tell you whats going on in this country but most dont want to here it.I realey feel the lack of christian faith is undermining our trust in one another.We show disreguard for each other every day if someone dose something we dont like we get revenge.Now christian faith should never slander the gay the transgendered or anyone.But this is not happening in America today many say they love each other but dont get in their way or you just might be hert.As far as this war I feel it seamed like a war that would be easy to win and Bush would look great not just good to the American people.This didnt happen and now it is an up hill fight at best.Thies are just a few things going on here but this is just the tip of all that is wrong I could go on for some time about thies things but I wont.

What is wrong with the US? Everything, and it has nothing to do with Christian faith. America thinks it can be the police force of the world, and it cant. America things it is still number one, for it is not. America is on the decline, and by my estimate we are now 2nd or maybe 3rd place. China is number one and India is pushing for number 2. Eventually we will run out of precious metals to pay China for all the crap we get from them, and when that happens they will cut us off. Then the economy will be in the toilet. It has happened before in history, and it will happen again. Stalin said “When we hang the capitalists they will sell us the rope." You know what he was wrong! We will give them the rope that will hang us.

in my opinion america in general is just fantastic! the scenery, food, music and culture is top notch! i've been lucky enough to meet many americans and i've found them all to be extremely friendly and polite. so to all americans out there HAVE A NICE DAY!!! except the racists, you can f#*k off!!

In their blind pursuit of the almighty dollar, US corporations have shipped manufacturing hardware and jobs overseas, putting thousands of citizens out of work. People can no longer trust employers, nor can they trust politicians, so just who do they have left to trust? Nobody but themselves. It's time for a new revolution to wake up the fat cats in boardrooms and Washington DC.
