Paintings that Suggest Music

Post by Beau Geste (imported) »

This is something several others and myself did on another website. The majority of these paintings suggest music to people, in most of the pictures, because figures playing instruments, singing, or dancing are pictured, and that motivated the artist to compose his picture in a way that is rhythmic and, in some sense, lyrical. Oddly enough, Pollock seems to have had a knack for this sort of thing, even though I don't think he played any instruments. Not even a brush--he poured most of his pictures from paint cans and other containers.
