With a letter from the psychologist you should be able to find a variety of urologists. Upstate New York has several female urologists which I would suggest, simply because their more caring and compassionate.

If the treat male patients that might be a better bet. In my opinion Male Urologists have too much male "ego" to properly understand this situation.

Thanks Hash for posting that list of women urologists. Women doctors are usually more careing and compassionate, listen better, and are more willing to work with their patients and consider their patient's feelings. Also, for various reasons some men seeking castration will only want it to be done by a woman surgeon or a woman urologist. So it is helpful to have some lists of women surgeons and women urologists for these men to check with.

i went to the psch yesterday and as i already knew, she pronounced me sane and didn't see any need for me to continue counseling. she's going to write up my letter and talk to another trans specialist she knows and send me a list of urologic surgeons in the area.

now i just have to find the one where the price is right

I have a Burdizzo but haven't used it yet. I am saving it in case of failure with my first encounter with a shrink on July 2, 2007. The Burdizzo is my much-needed and real threat of "self abuse" to shove in his face.

Personally, I will not tolerate more than a couple of sessions with one of the same know-nothing "know-it-alls" who helped me become HIV+ back in the 1980s. This shrink either gives me the "permission slip" in the first couple of sessions, or I don't come back; I do the job myself.

I already had one session with a "Christian nurse" who prepresented a shrink. Of course, it didn't matter to her that I may have unintentionally infected someone soon after discovering my HIV+ condition because I couldn't remember all the new rules in the heat of passion. And she "knew" that Christ didn't have castration in mind when talking about a "hand" or an "eye." Really? One of God's mind readers? Yea. Right. I sometimes feel as if I'm dealing with a level of stupidity that is nothing less than demonic! Don't get me started; I already am.

Most of us agree: common "precautions" in America regarding orchidectomies are really insane! I complain: "Crimony, if a teenager can get an abortion without her parents' permission, it makes no sense for a grown, middle-aged man to need a permission slip for something much less important! What eunuch wannabes want to eliminate is just a small part of human life, not a human life itself! It's nuts!" [Pun intended.]

And retro-litigation for insufficient counsel makes little sense. If a married woman who procured an abortion can't sue for insufficient counsel, why should we? Give me a break! I'm sure a thousand people have cursed the memory of Harry Benjamin in whatever part of hell he wastes! I'm especially thinking of those angry parents who had children molested by a man who wanted castration.

Have you considered a very safe Burdizzo? I ordered one over the Internet for around $20. They say the biggest problem is clamping it quickly enough to be effective or holding it in place long enough because of the intense pain. That pain lasts only lasts for less than two minutes--if even that. We can think of a woman in labor for inspiration.

From what I have read, the big problem with Burdizzo's is doing it yourself. You need to restrain the cord as you tighten the clamp which is awkward to do by yourself but the greater question is the involuntary reaction to the sharp pain that is reported to occur. If you baulk at this point you will likely have a damaged scrotum, a somewhat damaged cord, but not enough damage to achieve the required outcome. There should be two applications for each cord that would even furter complicat things. A minimum of one assistant can do it but even then it is better with two.

I did meet up with one guy who had done himself using a vice grip set up with rods welded to the jaws to provide the clamping contact but never saw the outcome. He said that they had shrivelled to the size of a peanut so it must have worked. It would be interesting to hear first hand from someone who has been-there- tried-that with a Burdizzo

If you have insurance, you might be able to have it paid or at least partially paid by them. Urologists know the system and might be able to give a medical reason for your castration. Don't give up.

Please keep in mind that low testosterone levels can be disasterous for someone that is HIV+. If your primary concern is infecting someone else, you may want to consider a ureathra reroute, That way you could top all you want, even bareback... You were very successful in getting your psych to pronounce you sane, but still get a letter from her that will enable you to be castrated. There are tons of men on this sight who could learn a valuable lesson from you. You're doing things the right way and not reverting to some back alley butcher for castration.

Could you share some of what you said or told your psych that made her agree that you needed to be castrated? Was it your transgenderism alone? What did she say when you told her you didn't want your testicles? Was it difficult going to a psych?

well, i saw her ad in some holistic healing newsletter when i was eating lunch, which said that she specialized in GLBT stuff,

so after finding i needed a letter for orchiectomy, which i still think is bullshit because

i was under the impression that

a letter was neceasary for GRS only, as per harry benjamin blah blah, i contacted her and told her i don;t have ins, so i was looking for an on the spot diagnosis so to speak. she was cool

anyway, i basically just told her my story and that i am trans, and have never felt better about myself as now that i dress only in women's clothes and am shifting the details of my life in that direction.

i mean i have been CDing off and on since i was less than 10, so i told her that there might just be something here.

and she thought i was very well adjusted considering the hardships that i've faced in my life.

so once i'm finished going to the fetility clinic for banking, thats the next step
