20/20 Apr 27th on TS children

Post by incuse (imported) »

Tonight's 20/20 is about Transgendered children (http://abcnews.go.com/2020/story?id=3077906&page=1). It comes on 9 PM CDT.

I have to work tonight, but I'm taping it so I'll see later. Wanted to spread the word though. :D

I watched this program and was impressed with the way it was handled by Barbara Walters. Very sensitive, informative and considerate of the families. If someone could not face a question, she moved on to aanother. I liked the program.

I started to watch that last night but it was actually kind of painful too watch after a few minutes into it. :/ eh.. I watched Bill Moyers interview Jon Stewart instead on PBS, which was really an excellent interview.

I did watch it. It was such a good program. Oh course..I did cry. I felt those childrens pain, even tho I wasn't a Transgrender child. My heart went out to them. They are so beautiful. It was heart breaking, but I still watched it all. They are so young, and to realize that feeling of not being the gender they should have been. The little one was only 4 or 5 yrs and living as a little girl now. My best friend Christina, as you all know her here, told me she felt that way also as a small child. I understood her then, but I really understand what she meant now. The show was great, and if they repeat it again, try and watch it if you can. Will help many understand Transgender people much better I believe. :)

I tried to watch it, but couldn't stay awake enough to enjoy it, so I reluctantly turned it off and went to bed. It was interesting to see these children that clearly knew their gender was different at such an early age. I knew what I wanted to be as a vocation at about the same early age, but my parents wouldn't let me pursue a career path that they disapproved of, so I had a very unhappy childhood and early adulthood as a result. Thus I can empathsize with a gender dismorphic child.

Must have been longer than the clips showed as that was only a few minutes and I just about stayed alive long enough to see them all!

I ended up learning a lot from the show. I didnt start feeling different until I was around 11-12 years old. Before I saw the show I made comments to a friend concerning last nights show that there was no way a child could know they were the opposite sex that early on.

Sure enough, I was wrong. Looking back, I can see where I was kind of confused, but it wasnt until later on that it started making sense. Whenever I was 11-12 years old.

The 6 year old in last nights show apparently had much more stronger gender identity disorder than I had, or what I suspect a lot of people have.

Hi lilac, I can totally relate to you on the age, I found out I was different at that age too.

I would like to see this, so if anyone knows if it has been put on you tube, can they let me know please.

Thanks
