Yes, it a nice story. It's from Plato, in one of his dialouges called Symposion, were the participants of a feast (as the title refers to) speak of Love. It is the famous comedic writer Aristophanes who delivers the story of the doubble beings being parted by Zeus.

Here's a description on Wikipedia:

And if anyone is interested in the whole text, it's available at Project Gutenberg:

Hi Sapient,

I can't thank you enough for those links. For some reason, I've never been able to find it. I know it was a lot more complicated and interesting than my one paragraph implied. I'm a big fan of Project Gutenberg and I'm hastening over there straight away to download it.

Thank you.

I've heard that too so it's not unique to you.

I think it's Plato, but I could be very wrong.

Years ago, when I was trying to work out what, exactly, I was and how I fitted in to the sexual world my father told me a story which he said came from Greek mythology. I've never been able to locate the story and so I suspect he may have made it up but it's so beautiful that I thought I'd post it here :

There was a point, in history, where the people displeased the Gods. To punish them the Gods decided to split each person into two. Before being split in half, some people were fully male, some were fully female, others were a mixture of both. After being split in half the people all tried to locate their 'other halves' - the ones who'd originally been fully male tried to locate their missing male half, the ones who'd originally been fully female tried to locate their missing female half and the ones who'd been both male and female tried to locate their missing halves amongst the male AND female population, some people chose not to locate their missing halves because they felt liberated in being separate. Thus it is, he said, that some people are straight, some are gay, others are bi-sexual and some of us prefer to remain alone.

It's a story of course, but I think it's a nice explanation anyway!

Is this why women have a tendancy to call men "HALF-WITS"?

...inquiring minds want to know...

Would Yoli be better adujusted if... (ahem) ,, "...Men had no Penis, and Women came from Mars"?

Hmm, I think there are a lot of us who could subscribe to the first part of that in a jiffy... 😄

I think that best defines me as well. I thouroughly enjoy sex with women am straight with lesbian tendencies ;-)

I'm Bi, but I prefer women, I don't mind them having a cock though. They can have a pussy, a cock, or be nullo, as long as they act and dress in the feminine. For some reason, masculine guys don't do much for me.

"Homosexuals" will never be 100% homosexual.

"Heterosexuals" will never be 100% heterosexual.

A homosexual put for days in the same room with a female that is masculine or not will eventually sleep with her.

A heterosexual put for days in the same room with a male that is feminine and soft will eventually seep with him.

Therefore we are living in a vast array of bisexuality.

In my experience I have been hit upon by many "heterosexual" males that come to the conclusion that I am a female. And even though they never had sex with me the very fact that they are hitting upon another "male" makesthem out to be a bisexual.
