Hi,

I noticed the "Major Downtime" message displayed frequently regarding the forums. I was still able to post in my Opera browser (from opera.com) even during the "downtime". So, could it be browser-related? What browsers are you using?

Actually, you weren't able to post during the down time. we were OFF line. But Shannon and crew were very quick in getting us up within a short number of hours. The message on the front page changes seldom.

Then, one day, it didn;t work right and it has not worked right ever since...

So, I have to use Internet explorer to get all of the features here.

Odd. I use Mozilla Firefox (ver 2.0.0.3) with Windows XP Pro on 3 machines and Linux on 1; all appears to be fine.

That really is odd actually, considering when I do up a page I use Firefox the whole time, and checking with IE or anything else usually doesn't happen until right near the end. I tend to worry more about if it'll look right in Firefox than IE. (And frankly, on my personal pages I can't be arsed to go out of my way to make them IE-friendly. I write to the standards. If your browser can't handle it, that's not my problem. But that's just on my website, not this one.)

What makes it doubly odd is that both the warning page and the new main page are 100% compliant to the official XHTML standards, which is something Firefox tends to adhere more closely to.

Please message me, A1, and let me know what version Firefox and operating system you use, as well as what pages are borked and maybe what happens when you try to load them up. We'll see if we can get this worked out.

IEunuch I can confirm to you, just as many thousands of others could, that the Archive and all its features work splendidly with Mozilla Firefox.

If you have received a Private Message, you get a box telling you that you have new mail but due to the excellent anti-pop up functions of Mozilla, you have to open your own Private Messages from the header at the top of the page.

All this does is demonstrate one good feature of Firefox in stopping needless 'pop ups' from opening. Maybe IE7 has at last caught up.

Apparently Vista isn't able to cope with Mozilla Updates, which simply gives another reason to stay with your present OS for now.

You can allow popups in Firefox for select sites. Down towards the lower left of the status bar, where it says "DONE" for the page load, you'll see a little white/blue box with a gold X in it. Click it. Allow for site.
