sigh, still dealing with pain

its no secret I had one side taken out back in jan, been healing up from that affair, the cord burned and hurt non stop, left side that is, and with it gone, life has been alot better, but, the right side, I was thinking the pain might have been a sypathetic deal being side by side,(but I wanted both done just to get things over with, but the doc wanted to go one step at a time)well two and a half months later, I can definately say, the other side has a pain issue too,

was on the tractor last night for more than a few hrs, the jarring around, bothered me bad enough , had to go dig out some pain pills, sigh,

go back to the doc in april, anyway, gonna start in on him,,,,again,

Each person has a different level of post op pain. Most seem to have it mostly gone in a month. Others sadly have a far longer recovery time. Very sorry to say it could go on for years. It seems that when the cord gets attached to the sack the pain is more intense and long lasting.

For myself one cord gave me almost no problems at all. The other one can bother me some once in a while 20 months later.

Hope your pain goes fast. If it is too much make sure your doctor really hears you and that you want relief. No reason to have a person suffer.

Bobby, on the cord, when the left nut was taken out, , the doc got all the cord , I cant feel the end of

it, its almost like it slipped on in side the abdominal wall, nothing hurts on the left side, out side of

the knot where the stiches were , and its slowly shrinking,

now the right one the pain is in the nut, not the cord like the other one, have had a epididyectomy on

both sides some yrs back, which helped for a while,

thing is,I have had touchy nuts since my teens(think the many motorcycle racing crashes helped the

problem along), then after my vasectomy, thats when the pain really got started, it would come and

go, but hey you tuff it out, then after 25yrs you say enough and here we are,

huevon, you reminded me of something, I have had 2 hernia repairs, and yeah they will hurt every once in a while,

but the pain,in the first post, I was refering to was the right nut,;)

They do but they are terrified. My surgeon said that he gets numerious requests from people to "Cut my nuts off" and they claim anything to get it done. Then (He says) when they find out they don't like being testicle free they hire lawyers to sue him.

There is also a lot of debate over how to "cure" chronic testicular pain. Many of the texts suggest various things all with low success rates. What I see so far lists "Inguinal Orchiectomy" as the best cure rate but its also the last step after a variety of other steps. And yes this process can take years depending on the doctor and how freaked out she or he is about this. And out of 14 surgeons btw 13 said out of hand "Never ever do an Orchiectomy for anything other then genetic faillure, Torsion or Cancer."

Lawyers are clearly a consideration for a surgeon. And issues with young men (for example) who think they know they will never "want" to be fertile that change their minds make this complicated.

I honestly think having more female doctors would even that out. A male doctor removing two ovaries has little "invested" nor would a female surgeon removing two testicles. But let a male surgeon remove another man's "Man hood" and yikes... The world is ending. Part of the problem is that most Doctors have never experienced serious Orchalgia (Chronic Pain) so they think way too highly of keeping them intact. Functional or not.

Anyway, I think the balance is shifted to one side because so many doctors are male vrs female. *Just my 2 cents worth.

If you're a young guy with testicle pain, why not suggest to the doctor to help you put a bunch of sperm on deposit in the local sperm bank, for later use when you might want to be a father.

It sure seems to me that it's a whole lot easier for women to get their ovaries removed than it is for men to get their testicles removed. So much for equality.

I've dealt with pain issues for almost 10 years now, learned to control it, manage it, and I can attest to the fact that NO doctor (and I've seen 9 for it) will ever take the issue of testicular pain seriously.

In my case, the best solution was a short round of HRT that eliminated at least 50% of the problems - which thankfully didn't come back when I stopped the HRT. What I can't figure out is if your balls hurt, they don't make enough T. to run on, and you can get HRT, then WHY leave them there? Then again, I'm just the patient, so what do I know?

My G.P. (female) has no trouble considering the removal of troublesome testicles but she can't get the HMO's surgery committee to agree to it. --FLO--
