Stories becoming extinct?

Post by stewie69 (imported) »

When I first stumbled onto this site (which was a while before I joined), it seemed like there were new penectomy stories almost every day. Now they're becoming increasingly rare. Penectomy fantasy is what drew me here in the first place. I'll admit, the longer I delve into it, the less of a thrill it is for me. Well, once in a while the thought still gives me a rush, but not as often as it used to. I wonder if other guys, especially the authors, feel the same way; perhaps that explains the story shortage. Anybody else missing the good cock-chopping fiction?

I think part of that may be due to the lack of feedback from readers. Authors come, they write a couple stories, get maybe one compliment if they are lucky, then get discouraged and leave.

Stories over the years have tended to come in waves...

We've had complaints of too many or too few: straight, gay, youth oriented, penectomy, whatever, stories. Stick around; the flow always changes.

Be of good cheer. I have over 80 stories in the Archive, and I can count on the fingers of one hand the number of responses I have received to any of them. It gratifies me that only one comment was adverse.

When I first started writing stories on this site I received feedback both on the story board and by email. It encouraged me to keep writing. After a while the feedback wasn't as important. If it had been, I would have stopped writing long ago, because I might get 10,000 hits on a story and not one response.

It's a shame that no one any longer responds to the stories. I would imagine that the archive has lost many potentially good authors because of lack of response. Even I have little incentive to post stories here any longer. What's the use? No one seems to care. Or, if they do, they don't take a couple of minutes to let me or any of the other authors know they do.

Of course, one of my problems with castration stories is that I've written so many of them. I'm hard pressed to find a new way -- or a new reason -- to cut off some guy's balls.

Besides, since I discovered Poser and started playing around making pictures, I'm having more fun making picture stories, which can't be posted here. On one site where I can, one of my threads has received over 80,000 hits and almost daily replies and comments. Like most people, I like for my work to be appreciated.

This site is really two sites, one that is the story archive and one that is the message board. Most of the people on the message board don't give a shit about the stories, and most of the people reading the stories don't give a shit about reading the message board posts. It wasn't always that way, but it is now.

So, you get what you pay for; and the only coin authors receive is responses to their stories. No one works forever for nothing, not if he can get paid for the same thing somewhere else, if his efforts are rewarded elsewhere.

That said and done, I have no idea how to change things here. The people who once responded to stories either no longer read them or they're no longer around. Hell, I hardly ever read any of the stories anymore.

I have read from other story posting sites that the problem of no reader response seems to be nearly universal. It wasn't always like that. It looks like that is the way it is now nearly everywhere on the net. I have no thoughts on why this should be the case. --FLO--

Remember, according to recently published reports, we are now dealing with the most narcissistic generatiojn ever. Everything is now about ME ME ME, and fuck everyone and everything else. Seems to fit the foot here... Some glass slipper, huh?

Sorry, Slammr - I love your writing, and that of several other authors here. I am so busy of late I find it hard to get the time to scratch my ass, let alone mine any gold.... I always catch up, though, but it may take a while. And I do like your picture stories on your site. Thanks

Thanks. I appreciate your letting me know. Here's the address of a site where I've posted quite a few pictures that aren't yet on my website. Most of them are not about castration, although a few are.
