If any one is interested in getting this type of piercing they might have more luck if they called it a 'labret'.
Well, there is a slight difference between a labret and a lowbret. The former is placed higher up on the lower lip, often just below the lip itself. The latter is somewhat similar, but is placed as low as possible. Stick a finger down between your lower lip and gums, and the lowbret would essentially be placed right about where the very tip of your finger rests.
Yeah, I know. Fiddly little difference. It's surprising how many names there are for the various placements of piercings. (Medusa, Madonna, labret, lowbret, Jestrum, vertical labret, etc etc etc.) And that's not even including regional or alternate names that some piercings have.
Actually, a quick look through the BME Encyclopedia shows that there is indeed a piercing that passes from inside the mouth to under the jaw. It's called a 'sprung piercing (
