I have been using androcur and hormones for about a month, and it seemed to me my voice changed a little softer....

I'm starting a new job tomorrow, so I'm holding off on either androcur, Depo Provera or hormones for atleast a few days, since the job involves alot of work on the phone...

Any experiences with voice changes or is this my imagination?

Yes, I was a bit nervous when I first started to inject myself. I still am a bit timid every time I do it. Something about a sharp needle an

Your voice does not change. Perhaps what you are experiencing is the calming effect from the castration drugs and maybe you are just more relaxed.

:) Thanks Christina for all your assistance with questions...You are always most helpful to everyone on this board.

I did start my new job this week

So I modified my medications.....I just took a lose does of premarin 1.25mg,

I broke a 2.5 in half each day and I took 1 pill of finpecia (1 gr) I think, and I used rogaine to help with hair growth....also I am taking prenatal vitamins to also help with hair growth...

Last nite(Friday), I did get the courage to do my 150 mg Depo Provera shot. I hate needles, so it was a big deal to me...I skippped the looking for blood part...found an area that seemed to be butt muscle...flicked the needed, removed air...flicked needle down ...and went in my butt anout 2/3's and pushed it in....So far so good...I don't feel any unusual things and I do feel calm...and no erection....

I have some androcur, but may not need to use it for awhile, with the Depo kicking in....I guess they say Depo may work up to a month on ome people....

I am off from work this weekend , so I am increasing my premarin until Monday...I have added a tts 50 Estraderm patch and increased premarin to about 5mg....

Monday, when I go back to work, I'll reduse my dossage to 1.25 premarin.....

I am a bit androgenious looking but mostly male looking for now....My employer seems to be a nice group, and I think they are open minded and compassionate type. I will be working with mostly woman and they all are very friendly...I am going to try to grow my hair longer, and later go to a ponytail. It is relatively short now, a little over the ears, parted down the middle...

Thanks

Dana

Dear Dana,

Christina makes a good point. I'd try the injections in your thighs. That's where my doctor has recommended that I use to inject my estrogen therapy. It makes it much easier to see what your doing by keeping the "target" in front of you and in sight.

He pointed out 8 different locations to use. Four on each thigh, two on the outside of each thigh and two on the inside of each. Just don't use the same location twice in a row.

I think you'll find it much easier than trying to use your butt! 😄

And no...it's not going to change your voice at all. God, how I wish it would!

I have done every day injections for 6-8 weeks or more at a time.

I always use a 1.5" needle, ~23 gauge for the big muscles (butt muscle or thigh).

You will hit fewer nerves if you do it in your butt. Butt, you can't see what you are doing as well and need to be able to one hand it. I also like doing butt shots because if you have a reaction to the alcohol or whatever makes the injection sterile, your butt may swell some but you can still walk. Not so easy if you do it in the thigh.

The key in any event is to do a sterile injection. Swab everything with alcohol and make absolutely sure it is sterile. Once you get the needle in your body far enough (gotta make sure to get through the fat into the muscle), don't just push it in. Pull back a tiny bit on the plunger to make sure you aren't in a vein. If you are in a vein blood will shoot into the syringe. You can then just withdraw the needle, switch to a new sterile needle and try again in a different spot.

Thighs can be easy, but you better get it in the meat of the muscle or you may be in for a little more soreness than usual! Thighs are also notorious for having lots and lots of nerves. So if you are skiddish about a little nerve action, that might not be the best first place to inject. If you are flexible at all you can turn around and see the outside of your butt cheek. Shoulder injections are a decent alternative if you have enough shoulder muscle. A lot of bodybuilders inject once or twice a week in the shoulders. It is also nice to have antibiotics or access to a doctor if you start to get an infection. Infections are usually not a big problem if you treat them immediately with antibiotics. If you get red streaks and are running a fever after a shot, make a trip to the doc.

My wife and I started my Depo Provera regime today. Orded from inhouse pharmacy and everything arrived in 8 days! Since I've never taken Depo before she started me out with 150mg. She plans to do 150mg per month. I know everyone is different but what changes will this dosage likely bring on? Lowered libido, inability to achieve erections??? How long will be before I will notice the effects? Wife gave her first shot, no problems. Thanks for all of the great info here on the site. Twoagree

Not worried about voice changes, just to eliminate a very high sex drive. Thanks.
