i am going to see my g.p on tuesday to try and get Cyproterone to try and calm down my sex drive, i will be taking the drug even if i cant get it on prescription, but my main concerns are the side effects of the drug there are reports that it can increase the size of your boobs is this true and by how much and just what other side effects of taking this drug should i be aware of

It depends on what your objective is. If you want to lower your sex drive without killing it then 50 mg a day should do it, a 100 mg a day will probably stop spontaneous wrections completely.

But, everyone is different, be very careful if you go over 150mg a day.

I would take 50 mg for a week or two see what the effects are and then if neeed be go up to 100mg.

You may find that a regime of 50mg for a week and then 100mg for a week will get you to where you want to be.

As for boob growth it is usually only in the first few weeks and then stops. But, everyone is different.

A lot of people ntake a low dose of estrogen to offset the hot flushes etc caused by Cypretone and this would long term enhance breast growth.

There are lots of posts here regarding this.

Take care and above all if you use this drug long term get your liver checked and have lots of detox food and drink

I have been on Androcur for three years. The first two years at 100 mg. per day and the last year at 150 mg. per day. In the last year for some unknown reason my left breast only develop some breast tissue. No enough to make me have boobs. No one can see except my partner when I am naked and he feels of it. But it seems so strange. The left breast only develop tissue. The right one did not. Only nature knows why.

Androcur is very powerful drug. But it needs time to act. In my experience at least two weeks are necessary to evaluated just the beginning of effect. I tried a month of 100 mg a day. During the first two weeks there was nothing much happening. But then in just a few days I lost desire, morning erections and at the end of that month I almost lost the ability to achieve some erection. It took more than two months to recover. Even now, several months later, I think I may be not as 'potent' as before.

Beware:

1. If you still want to father: do not do this ! Permanent sterility may occur.

2. If you intend to prolonge your treatment: do not do this without medical follow up !

3. Please read each single post on androcur here. The site has an huge amount of knowlegde one cannot find elsewhere on the net.

I agree with Vesal, Androcur is very powerful. I've experienced it for no more than a week but I started with a really high dose of 200 mg a day. By the end of the week I was having clear ejaculates and couldn't get fully erect. And it took several weeks to get back to normal.

I should have known better than to do that because of all the warnings. Even at lower doses (100 mg/day or less) you should have have your red blood cell count checked (you can get blood clots), have your liver function checked along with your adrenal function.

There are folks here that have been on Androcur for many months or years and I think some of them didn't see a doctor about it. It's true that at lower doses the chance of bad side effects is much less but the potential is still there.

Today was the first time I brought up Androcur, and the possibility of his monitoring my resopnse, with my (US) physician. You can't get it in the US so he hadn't heard of it. I was pleasantly surprised that he was totally accepting of the idea that I'd use Androcur and he was willing to do the monitoring. He just needs more physician-type info on the effects.

It's not just the side effects of the Cyproterone you should be looking at though. Castration can also increase the size of your boobs, and although I'm not an expert, I'd hazard a guess that a large part of the boob increase would be due to effectively being castrated, rather than a side effect of the medication.

So in addition to just looking at the side effects of the medication, I'd highly recommend you look at the side effects of castration as well.

With gynecomastia it's not unusual for only one breast to develop, or uneven development. Not a problem I've ever had, mine are relatively even in their devopment.. lol :/ THough if I were only to have one breast I would prefer if be in the center of my chest... heh..
