Hi guys ^^
I just noticed today that Inhouse pharmacy got a new product, Estradot patches. Would anyone happen to know how effective these patches are?.
It is produced by the same company, Novartis o_o.. They have different dosages, TTS 50, 75, 100 instead of estraderm TTS 25, 50, 100 but wow Estradot is much more expensive.
Right now the price is oddly enough...
Estradot 50mcg - 24 Patches US $90.00
Estradot 75mcg - 24 Patches US $90.00
Estradot 100mcg - 24 Patches Sorry, Temporarily Out of Stock
Estraderm being
Estraderm TTS 25 8 patches US $22.00
Estraderm TTS 25 16 Patches US $31.00
Estraderm TTS 50 8 Patches US $24.00
Estraderm TTS 50 16 Patches US $38.00
Estraderm TTS 100 8 Patches US $39.00
Estraderm TTS 100 16 Patches US $65.00
So really.. I just wonder what the differences are >. >.. and since I am already on the subject of patches. How effective would you guys consider Climara to be?. I use patches so I want to use the best ^^, thanks for your help!.

Re: Inhouse Pharmacy - Estradot?
Estradot/Vivelle Dot is one of a new group of patches that use a matrix instead of the conventional reservoir to hold and slowly release the drug. This inovation is supposed to greatly reduce the skin irritation factor in using patches. Estradot (also known as Vivelle Dot) is the smallest of the patches currently available at the size of a smallish coin. --FLO--

Hi Fami,
I've only tried Climara 50 patches and Estrofem 2mg pills. The two provide approximately the same dose theoretically (assuming only one Estrofem 2mg pill/day), but it seems Climara is more effective in practice. Another advantage to Climara is you don't have to worry about an increased risk of blood clots.
I chose Climara over the competition due to price. If I recall correctly, Estroderm patches are supposed to be changed every 4 days, whereas Climara is changed weekly. When you factor that in, Climara is the better value.

Re: Inhouse Pharmacy - Estradot?
Hi and thanks everybody for your replies ^^.
I have another question.. is Oestradiol and 17ß-diol (estradiol) the same type of hormone drug?
Wouldn't estraderm release more estrogen in your system? since it is changed every 4 days I mean. Like a week is 7 days so let's say if you use a 50mcg climara patch and change it every week you get a total of 50mcg. What about estraderm? 8 days is one day over a week so.. if it is changed every 4 days would that not be like getting 100mcg a week instead of 50mcg?.
@_@ just a little confused.. but I want to see if I am right or wrong <3.

Re: Inhouse Pharmacy - Estradot?
Just to clarify something about patches...
Climara, Progynova TS are also matrix type patches, like Estradot. The only reservoir type sold by Inhouse is Estraderm with the inconvenience of increased irritation as was mentioned earlier and more fluctuations.

.
I have been using the Estradot 75 patch for 1 week and changed every 3 days. No iritation at all, easy to apply and discrete.
