Hello
I'm 19 years old and definitely have a problem with excessive masturbation, constant thoughts of sex, etc and would like to try chemical castration. One of my main worries is if i'll still be fertile after, because I don't know now, but later in life I may want kids.
The main thing I know about is Spironolactone, but I know this will cause infertility after using it for a while. Another thing a read a little about is Depo-Provera, but I cant seem to find any information about if the user remains fertile afterwards.
Things i'd like to ask:
I've bought some Spironolactone already, but not used it. How long would it be safe to use without losing my fertility?
Does Depo-Provera make you infertile? And if so, how long must I be taking that for it to happen?
Also i'm worried about getting a low blood pressure. I have at the moment a slightly high blood pressure. I know spironolactone reduces blood pressure, but will it reduce it by a lot and if so, what effects will a lower blood pressure have on me?

Re: Fertility after chem castration
Mike,
Your post indicates that you are 19 years old and that the origins of your concerns are excessive masturbation and constant sexual thoughts. You dont state how frequently you masturbate, nor how much of your life is taken over by sexual thoughts.
Medical doctors, psychologists, and others have done quite a bit of research on these questions in a large number of different countries and cultures.
Frequency of masturbation, especially, varies across the lifespan. Ages 18 and 19 are the normal years of peak frequency wherever you go in the world. At age 19, you should, as an average teenager, be masturbating one to three times per day. About two-thirds will fall within this range, with about one third of young men masturbating either more or less frequently than this. You should not be at all concerned unless you are consistently masturbating more than five or six times per day.
At that frequency, I would suggest that you seek professional help before doing any self-diagnosis or self-medication.

Re: Fertility after chem castration
Mike I'm worried about the same things. I have been taking androcur for just about 3 months but have been decreasing my dose and preparing to stop completely because I want to have children. I am having a hard time finding information myself and I hope that someone can give us the info on depo-provera because i love the effects of not having testosterone but want to have a family some day. Could people provide info without criticizing his reasons...he didn't come here for advice on the why, rather the what.

I hope you dont think Im criticizing his reasons. My goal is to make certain that he has thought them through. Its always best to take the simplist action necessary to solve a problem.
If Mike Hunts primary purpose for seeking chemical castration is to reduce excessive masturbation and his frequency is within or very close to the normal range, maybe the best course of action is for him to simply realize that his male friends are doing it as often as he is (and, of course, never going to talk about it), and that he should simply relax and enjoy the simple (not sinful) pleasure. Setting his mind at ease may be all thats needed.
If his reasons include religious prohibition of masturbation, he has a very different type of reason that would need to be addressed. Again, before taking drastic action.
For the later question return of fertility should he decide on chemical castration after exploring simpler alternatives the answer is not so simple.
First of all, there have been a number of recent studies of the fertility of young males in northern Europe, all indicating that about 8 to 10% of them are already sterile or with such reduced fertility that they are, for all practicle purposes, sterile. Environmental pollution, including a high level of estrogen analogues, is thought to be the cause, though there is no defiinitive answer.
Mike may already be sterile without knowing it. Should he use chemical castration for some period of time and then be sterile afterwards, it would be impossible to know the cause.
Second, use of any pharmaceutical that has such dramatic effect on the body will be a case of Your Mileage Will Vary. Some individuals will be able to use them for extended periods with no lasting harm. Others will never regain fertililty even after a short period of use.
You would need to assume permanent sterility and hope for something else. There is no way to predict for any individual. The odds of permanent sterility are low, but not zero.
Without fertility testing BEFORE chemical castration, it would be impossible to know the cause of any sterility.
Someone else here would have better information than I do about the current research on long term effects of the various forms of chemical castration. I hope that one or more of them respond to this thread .

Re: Fertility after chem castration
So if I use a TEENS or an hour every morning, will that cause me to become sterile or close to castration level?? It is not CBT byt heavy CB workout that would exhaust the sexual energy for sure at least for a good while ?? N3RF
