My best advice for DIY is to enlist a couple of very trusted friends, familiarize them with the process (particularly the things that go wrong) have them assist you and back you up, then expect problems. I would remind everyone that self-castration is extremely dangerous and potentially deadly. Keep in mind that most cutters are NOT well versed and can be equally as hazardous as those going alone. Even surgeons can have emergencies in procedures such as this. While obviously we cannot stop anyone from doing whatever they are determined to do, we urge extremes of caution, preparedness, and safety.

Keep in mind, also, that there are several members here who have been very successful, through honest and open discussion, to get legitimate professionals involved on their behalf and working toward ones goals. It can be done. It takes diligent search, great honesty and forthrightness, and persistence.

Aside from the cutter diversion above, welcome back Jcat. You have actually made progress in finding out more about your condition, and presumably have eliminated cancer as a cause of your pains.

Uncle Flo, I could not agree with you more. IF I did go the DIY route it would not be alone. I would love to meet some like minded in the UK were we could engage in a discussion and maybe help each other out.

I am not new to self surgery, I circumcised myself some years ago, and managed not to get an infection.

I have learnt a huge amount from the Archive over the years and still learn all the time.

I agree completeley, becasue of the problems in UK in particular of Doctors refusing to help it is ineveitable that, desperate individuals will resort to the downstairs loo and a kitchen knife. It is a regular occurence here and in the news papers.

If peopel are going to do it, then having good self help and a supportive forum like this at least makes it safer.

Kristoff, I know that the pain is directly related to the amount of Testosterone in my body, as it subsides, the pain gooes down and so does the growth.

And yes it is great to know that it ain't Cancer.

In many respects I am no further forward, except that if I had no testicles I think the pain would go completeley and having been chemically castrated for a reasonable period and enjoyed it, I think it would be very easy for me to make the decision to have them removed in a claen safe environment.

I thought national health care took care of transexuals? In the US we had some patients bring suit against the insurance providers and got some to start coverage. Medica I think covers this as a matter of course now. No special premiums like most do for chemical dependancy.

With the power of the Euro have you considered simply flying to the US? Our malls are filled with overseas visitors who are here simple because their Euro goes much further then at home.

The UK health care system is supposed to be there and free at the point of need. Except, that there are long waiting lists, billions wasted in computer systems tht don't work and therefore always short of funds.

The other thing is that for Transexuals there are very strict rules about how things are done.

In my case I have been approaching this from the testicular pain angle and so far can't get anywhere. For whatever reason the medicl community seem very reluctant to remove testicles, but quite happy to prescribe pain killers.

Coming to the US is an idea and maybe I should look into it.

I have had twice yearly prostate exams for several years now. Currently, I am due for another one. I follow this thread with personal interest.

So here we are some years on and maybe i have stumbled on something! Or maybe not.

Since I last posted I have continued with pain and a cyst that has grown quite big.

However, this week i started to take the following

Cyproterone 50mg Tablets 100mg daily

Crinone 8% onec a day anally

Oestrogel Gel twice a day on my arms

The other day I squeezed too much estrogel out and rubbed it all over my scrotum to use it up. Felt cool and rather good!

Anyway, today I noticed I felt better and the reason is the cyst has almost gone and the pain is all but gone for the firts time in years.

Now, I am not asserting anything, except that last week the cyst was there and now it is not. The only thing that has changed is the above regimen.

I decided on the Crinone (vaginal) progesterone and estrogel because it is better for the body than pills, but more costly.

Since I don't have a vagina, I administered it analy. Crinone is an unusual choice.

Anyway I just thought you should all know what I have done or not done and will keep you posted.
