Well, the distant past - the very distant past - of the solar system was violent. There are a lot of other proofs of that - our own moon for example.

But my point is, despite these things our solar system has settled into a very ordered routine. Venus retrograde rotation, Saturn's "rolling" motion and so forth are from way back when. (They may indeed be the result of rouge planets or panetoids colliding with other bodies, forming the planets we see today, with all of their lovable quirks...)

But the things proposed in this scam, well, even if you allow for a certain amount of honest misunderstanding, is just not credible. If you try to permutate some of the garbled and fantastic statements until they are possible - then I think it would by necessity have left other marks on our solar system.

(I mean, the statements made that it is so dense its' gravitatinal pull already affects our weather patterns even though it hasn't passed the orbit of Pluto - but still it will not disrupt a lot of things closer to it in any way that is observable - is just BS.) But it would certainly have to be a body of some magnitude - otherwise there would be NO observable effects.

So, if such a massive body where to travel through our solar system at a time when Venus was so formed that it would retain its unusal motion later, but still give time for other things (like asteroids) to be put back in order again, I can't see much of a window of opportunity.

I may be wrong here, but to my mind if such a thing had happened it would had to have happened sometime between the formation of the sun (otherwise there would be no source of gravity to pull it in) and the formation of the planets (because afterwards we would still see the traces of the first pass in more ways).

But if it did, then the things we may point to as indications of such a passing (Venus again) could not be a result of that, because it would not have formed enough to retain a permanent structure or an orbital quirk.

Anyway, that's how I reasoned. I may be wrong. As I said, it used to be a fond interest - but I'm certainly no professional.

Yes Sapient and all. The topic of "things" causing our Sun to burp is the reality we watch on a daily basis and it does affect our weather, like right now, a big blast of cold is coming down to New England and the cause is the flare our Sun produced when the Meteor went by. See again the jmccaneyscience.com I think he talks about it very well and shows a video observing the flare produced by the passage.

Like slammer sais : the sky is falling etc but who really knows what goes on. Our best people on the job will tell us if we ask nicely - I would hope and pray. n3rf

Uhm, I would say a definite no on that, n3rf. Why - and how? - would a passing meteor produce a solar flare? If you have to substitute a whole different system of physics (and throw in a clandestine global conspiracy to boot) to support your theory, well that just dosen't cut it.

I saw a few seconds of what looked to be SoHo-satellite imagery. It showed a solar flare and what looked like a passing meteor. So? It didn't show that the two events where in the least connected.

For example: if you put up a camera at an intersection, regestering passing cars and pedestrians - at some time or other you WILL have a yellow car passing within moments of someone riding a bike. Does that mean tha riding a bike will produce the effect of a yellow car passing?

No.

And it still won't, if you build a website saying that the government - for reasons unknown - has hidden the fact that bike-ridning produces yellow cars for years and years, with your one shot to "prove" this.

There are a few of us that are allowed to think freely and not report to a superior.

Those today are far between. It appears that Professor MacCaneys possition at Cornell University gives him that Freedom to think without others permission.

The other thing is that SorchaFal is only as I see it a collector of articles from around the world that MAY HAVE an interest to some of her members. I don't think we should BLAME her for all those 500 newspaper clips she refers to. So in
