The following comment is not a criticism, but merely an observation.
After watching here on the subject threads about planning for upcoming MOMs, it is beginning to appear that I will have little opportunity to participate in a MOM event. I live in Central America, and so short notices about meetings leave me essentially no ability to work airline arrangements, unless I would be willing to pay full fare, and even then short notices don't work well all the time. And as a retiree (read 'fixed income'), I don't have money to waste.
I really would like to participate in at least one MOM because I believe there are some really neat people that I would like to know better and personally. In order to arrange things, I would need months (three or more would work best for me) of advance notice. I just don't see that happening, and so wanted to share my view on this matter with you.
On the other hand, I am planning a trip which will include London for later this year (October time frame), and know of at least one EA member that I plan to contact about meeting in person. He would be my first actual contact with other EA members.
Please do not change what and how you are doing regarding these MOM meetings. It seems to be working well for all the others. I'm just sharing.

A fair amount of notice is also good for me. I stay at the gentleman's house seven nights a week so the family would have to cover my time off. When I am not at work I have no income. Between the expense of travel and lodging and lost wages I do have to plan well. I miss paid vacations and higher wages but not the old job.

Here is the unpleasant update. Do to some reasons beyond the control of the three sponsors of the meeting will be changed some. The planned trip could not happen this month. It will be deplaned for later in the year.
As far as the North East Coast meeting planned for May is still a go. The three hosts will be in the Philly area the weekend of May 11 12 13. We have a wedding to attend on that Saturday. We will be visiting relatives in western New York. So other weekends in May are also possible. The location could be another city if a different time is selected.
If it matters May 11 is mothers day and the weekend of May 25-26-27 is Memorial Day.
Toronto Meeting around end of June or Start of July is still possible. Several of us will be their attending a different meeting. in theToronto area.
Tentative plans for a meeting in the upper Midwest in the Minneapolis St Paul area the weekend of Aug 24,25,26. The main gathering will be on Saturday. Another meeting more in the center of the country is also on our list.
This leaves us with a meeting in Southern California and possible points between Milwaukee and the coast for a meeting. Southeast yet to be planned. Again possible meetings between Milwaukee and the coast are possible.
To help make some sense of this planning more clear is that OneBallBoi, Luvpain and I have a camper and make it a road trip. So we have to make loops in our travels. We need to be home at certain times around a month apart.

Am I correct in assuming that the Midwest meeting will be held in the Minneapolis/St. Paul area this year?
I'd love to see all of you again, but unfortunately that is a little too far for me to travel for a weekend, so I guess I'm going to have to excuse myself from being in attendance this year.
Please let me know if anything is being planned that's a little closer to my location. I'll miss all of you.

The meeting in Mineapolis sounds good to me. I will have enough time to schedule time off and make travel arrangements. I am excited.

seattle? washington? anything in the area of north west? i must see as many of you as possible. i must. i just cant get away from work during the peak season. i really do want to join some members for a meeting, but would have limited time to travel....
