New Years Eve

Post by Blaise (imported) »

The thought that I am posting to the Eunuch Archive on New Years Eve makes me wonder about my life. The coming year might be a good time to find a life! 🙏 🙄

I feel your pain, and agree wholeheartedly. 25 year old single female who isn't all that bad looking, and I'm sitting at home all alone watching reruns of Law and Order and posting on EA.... Where did I go wrong?? lol

I went out for dinner with friends, went to bar, etc. etc. Lots of gorgeous boys to look at. Bored, tired, not there. Went home and shoveled snow. Fuck it

Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year celebrations are all scripted by Hollywood and Madison Avenue. If only we could have the joyous times, filled with love and family and happily crowded homes and sanctioned self-indulgence and Bing Crosby crooning in the snow and Santa regurgitating egg nog and ten-pound turkeys being carved by a grinning Norman Rockwell and Alvin the Chipmunk caroling and small concealed weapons being used against competing shoppers and being thankful the woman you beat and raped on New Years Eve can't tell police because she's in a coma now and, well, you know, all that holiday spirit, that we see on TV and movies. Alas, life is but a pale shadow of TV, but it's our duty to do our best to make the producers of Charley Brown's Christmas proud. Happy New Year to all, and to all a good night!

I am going to steal this observation. Excellent.

You mean that sitting home watching the TV isn't a good New Years celebration?

You mean I should be drinking my liver to failure in a bar?

Well, I did not watch television. I listened to public radio. I have been to parties where the host tuned a television to the national networks as background. I stopped attending New Year's Parties a long time ago. They sometimes bored me. Sometimes, I enjoyed meeting new people at such parties.

NOW!

That's the ticket!

I take it back! It's fun to watch the non-professional drunks...

I would have to agree. I'm a people watcher, and drunk people are a lot of fun to watch.
