I don't think the corporation has any liability in this situation and besides, what are the damages?
Just handing out cash isn't going to solve a thing.
I agree that the manager should lose his job and perhaps some counseling (if needed) for the girl should be paid for but making someone rich when they are partially responsible is just plain wrong.

But, I am not sure where you got your legal training, Taylor, but I have had several courses in law, (no, I won't elaborate) but the legal principle that you want to deny exists is called "The Doctrine of Respondeat Superior". This is a latin term (pronounced ree-spahn-dee-uht soo-peer-ee-your) that means that a principal (or employee) may be liable for an agent's torts under many, many examples of civil case law. Of course, the examples are too numerous to mention, but if you will just look it up, you will find that I am right...
