Re: Severe Testicular Pain
Ive been on Antibiotics and Nsaids for almost 2 years and my stomach is fucked at the moment as a result of all the meds. I think that the reason I havent seen a urologist sooner is down to me not being insistent enough with my doctor. Now that Im being insistent, Im hoping to get somewhere. Ive used Tens and it doesnt work for me... the urologist did suggest acupuncture and thought that 'could work'. If all the tests come back negative, Im giving the pain management options 3 months and if those dont work, I will push for surgery.

This can be very difficult, it perhaps could be a bacterial infection of Chronic Orchitis or something similar.

If it is a stomach infection and not realted to the testicles this could be quite serious and they are not finding anything not good.
I wish you luck!!

If you don't notice a decrease in swelling very soon, then you should insist on seeing a urologist. It shouldn't take very long at all for the effects of the antibiotic to become noticeable, maybe a week.
I just had a bout of epidydimitis which is a testicular infection The ball swelled up
Beware though, just make sure he doesn't have kids in college before agreeing to any removal. He might have ulterior motives and not be totally objective.

Testicular pain sucks
Sometimes it can take a little time for them to heal, if you have them removed then you lose them which may in your case from you you have described things be the best thing for you, as you have have substained some damage.
I am sure however something could be done to eliminate or decrease the pain something perhaps other than having them removed, if you have to have them removed then you could always get implants.
Again I wish you the best of luck in regards to your recovery.

Hi Zac:
Thats seems very reasonable. I spoke at length to my Pain Dr about Tens and thought it was BS. Hit my thumb with a hammer so I forget my stubbed toe. He agreed. Acupunture might be the same thing all I can say is it "seems" snakeoil-ish to me but why not try it? The surgery option is one of those that can't be "undone" so save that for last.
If you don't get relief you do have to be the squeaky wheel. I suggest you do which ever one is worse (One side) at a time. Then assess if that worked or not. I also strongly suggest the following.
Request an Inguinal (AKA Radical) Orchiectomy. This is where they leave the scrotum alone and make an opening in the pubic hair area. They fish out the cords and thus can remove most of the cord with the teste. The cords are often part of the pain problem and removing them removes the very real possibility that they will reattach causing future pain. Also ask that before they cut the cord they inject it with nerve blocks. My Pain doctor said the current thinking is that avoiding trauma in this way make phantom pains less of a possibility.
Be sure you have set up a plan to deal with your hormone needs. After the final snip you will want to be ready to go on HRT and should ponder the fact that this will be for the rest of your life. Do some R&D on what form you want to use. Since your in the UK I STRONGLY suggest you avoid the option of Nebido. From the http://www.andropause.org.uk

Good luck with it and I hope it all works out for you.
I think it may be as much as anything finding the right urologist who understands the problem

Re: Severe Testicular Pain
Yes, Urologists are not (in general) keen on doing Orchiectomy procedures for anything other then cancer. Some understand Orchialgia well enough to understand that its a worthwhile solution when other treatments fail but I suspect every Urologist worth his salt will insist that all other options have been addressed first. And even then may insist on doing one side at a time (If the pain is in both testicles) to insure the procedure really does the trick.

Re: Severe Testicular Pain
Well, it looks like I found the right web sight and right forum but it also looks like there is no easy solution to my testicle pain problem. I posted my situation on my blog post so I won't go into the details here.
It looks like I have no choice but to undergo yet another epididymus removal surgery and spend the rest of my life with useless balls and no sex life. The economy has caused me enough depression, and now this. If it wasn't so dangerous I would just remove the little buggers myself, but I am not that desperate or wreckless, although I am very tempted to find some way to cause my balls to need justifiable medically necessary removal that won't land me in the psycho ward or void my insurance.
I will keep watching this forum, and browse the other forums to see if there is some way to deal with this.
I would rather have 2 normal working balls, but fate has dealt me a bad hand and I am caught between a rock and a hard place. I don't want to suffer pain, or emotional distress any more so no balls is more acceptable to me than another surgery and 2 small squishy sterile dead useless balls. I'm going to need yet more anti-depression treatments now.
