Yup....that's me. I've never owned a "PC" but have always used Apples or Macs. I currently have an old iMac. It has two operating systems: 9.2.2 and OSX. 99% of what I do is on 9.2.2 but I have files stored on OSX.
Back to the subject of numbnuttness. Tonight I pulled a real boner which the non Mac people may not understand or I explain technical things weirdly.
On my my desktop I have several links/files/folders. One of these is MicrosoftWord. When I want to save something to a Microsoft file, I click on the icon which gives a new page (in case I was adding a new folder/file)> I close, reopen it and it brings me to the main menu where all my folders are saved.
So, if I taped a new episode of say 60 Minutes called BUSH I'd click on news magazines then click on 60 Minutes, add the new title and save and close it.
Tonight I wanted to save a friends address on my desktop and for some reason chose microsoft. I saved the file on my desktoip but then realized I couldn't get easily back to my microsoft menu list.
after an hour of frantic searching, I found a folder called "Data Backup" which had everything I was looking for. It wasn't in the same order as it had been but at least I found it.
I hope this makes sense to somebody besides me. I think you'd actually have to be here to see how my computer is organized so you could more easily understand how I screwed myself.
