Neutersol Injections
Has any member come across any reference to this product?
Both items were dated 2003 so I guess if they became popular we would have heard more about the product by now.
Neutersol® injectable solution is a prescription product used to sterilize male puppies 3 months to 10 months of age. Neutersol® is given as a single injection into each testicle. The injection should be given only by a licensed veterinarian.

Hi hi ^^.
I have not come to any referance of that product but injection to the testicles sounds painful!. Will probably need some sort of strong pain killer?.
Has it ever been used on humans ^__^?.

I believe this product and others like it have been discussed here. You can probably do a search here and find more. I think what was determined though, is that we are not puppies. If you have to get castrated, do it the right way and by all means try the chemical castration first. You can try running it across your doctor. I started by telling my doctor that I wanted to be castrated and he didn't freak. Maybe he's a rare one, but it's worth a try. They may not want to physically castrate you, but they might help you go the chemical route. You really want to try that first especially if you want no HRT.

Re: Neutersol Injections
I was asking about it some time ago. I am looking for the cheapest possible way to reduce T to a level that the human will keep its "calm" etc and this Nutersol sounds interesting. I would like to know (1) where can I buy some veterinary Nutersol and for how much and without "prescription" ?? and
(2) how soon does the material work, like retucing the size of the Testicles etc.
I would also like to know if anyone on EA has tried it on a DIY basis and what his experience was in some detail.
I am also recently checking on TENS (electric) way to reduce T and would like to know how you measure T and if anyone else has had any results "calm" and so forth. Regards N3RF

Testosterone is measured through a blood test.
Neutersol is, from what I understand, still considered an experimental drug and is not generally available.
It has been extensively discussed here in the past. Run a search from the menu at the top of the forum. You'll get a lot of hits.
After anyone interested is done reading about neutersol, go read Scottie's story in "Consequences of Castration" in the Non-Fiction Posts. If after that you want to do this kind of thing, I'll send the guys in the white jackets for you.

I've had low T and the only calm I experienced was between dark moods and angry outbursts. Tired out all the time? Yes. Look, I can't say how it effects anyone else but I (and others I've spoken to) who have had testosterone issues will tell you this is nothing fun or exciting or calming.
If you really think you must experience this for God's sake do it with a chemical form that is reversable before you start injecting un tried drugs into your testes etc. If you don't like it taking HRT for life (as I do) can be expensive.

Re: Neutersol Injections
As a matter of fact I liked many aspects of low (virtually non-existant) testosterone The most difficult part was very low levels of energy and motivation. Now that I'm on HRT I find that I have issues with some of the effects of that and it is not the same as having a natural level of testosterone in your body. My advice would be to procede with caution. I don't have regrets about my hormone situation but I suspect that others would. --FLO--

I guess I've had low Testosterone for so long that I wouldn't know the difference. I'm very interested in what you think is different between HRT and "natural" Testosterone / whatever else you get from functional testes?
Increased Energy was the first thing that came back for me. It took about 3 days of regular use then I woke up that first morning and was just euphoric. I was so used to crawling out of bed thinking I'm too tired to get up! And motivation? I had NONE before HRT. I mean none at all. Do you want to do ______??? Why? Whats the point of anything??? I also had a seriously dark mood quite often and mental focus problems. I could not sit down and read a book anymore. And anxiety and just inability to make decisions. I was like that "good" Capt Kirk in that show where his evil side was split from him in the matter transporter.

Re: Neutersol Injections
This is a BIG NO NO.
The chemical burns that affected Scotty look to be another side affect that could happen with this drug.
Came across this from a vet site.
The last weekend of April, some American vets came down to the southern baja area to do mass spay/neuter clinics, utilizing Neutersol for ALL male dogs, not just those 10 months and under. I don't mean to sound ungrateful for their help, but we now know of at least 5 serious complications from chemical burns that required surgical castration, one resulting in death, and heaven knows how many more of the street dogs that were neutersol'd and released.
I have at my home right now, one of the Neutersol victims. He is a big, beautiful long-haired German Shepherd, who USED to be a perfectly normal 2 year old happy dog. Although some of the blame for his current condition rests with the owners for not seeking help sooner, he was brought to me a month ago, dragging his hind legs, which spasm involuntarily like he's going to jump, and severe chemical burns that wore holes on both the inside and outside of his thighs alongside his penis. I have photos to send to anyone who wants to see them, providing you have powerpoint, as that is the program they were sent to me on. I left him at my vet's clinic for a week, hoping the wounds would start to heal and they would have a better idea if the spasming would ever subside. To date, although the wounds are fairly healed now, the spasming is still there. He still gets around good though, and does put weight on his hind legs, but his entire backside hangs way below where it should be. Until yesterday, he lived at the sanctuary here, but he has now come to live with me, as his owner chose to leave him rather than care for him in his possibly permanent condition.
Being able to observe him closer now, I have discovered that he is sensitive when touching his back feet or hindquarters area, including his tail, as he yelps and acts as if he will bite but stops short. The vets really don't know what else to do at this point, other than steroids or other conventional means that they most likely cannot do here. I am taking him to an American chiropractor tomorrow, as he has treated several of my personal dogs in the past with great success, and am also planning to take him swimming.
I guess what I'm trying to ask is - does any vet on this group have any further suggestions, comments, etc, possibly words of encouragement? He ("Willy") follows me around quietly like the gentle spirit he is, a really WONDERFUL dog, but I am wondering what else can be done to alleviate his suffering, short of ending his life.....I know that's alot to ask, but I didn't see the harm in trying. Plus, I would like to get a dig in on that WONDERFUL drug, Neutersol.

From my experience I find that I don't have the same emotional values or the same sexual desires as I remember having before my "T" levels crashed.
I also have developed some physical effects that are new to me, such as skin problems and vastly increased body hair. The overall desireable effects seem to be diminishing with the passage of time (in my case only about a year). My ability to erect and ejaculate, which peaked a month after begining HRT is now diminishing once again although desire is not. Serum testosterone levels are holding steady at 480-500. Contrast that with 75 before HRT (described to me both as prepubertal and as adult female level). In the tests I've been given the expected range is 350-850. The endocrinologist I've seen said that the "T" used in HRT is not identical with the naturally occuring sort and so the results are more variable. Does this help? --FLO--
