If memory serves, Fleming says in "From Russia With Love", that "Bond was not unaquainted with torture".

Thanks for that. I'd forgotten about it.

Anyway, my own personal partner (who is my co-hobbit, not my lover) has just gone into hospital with a (non-sexual) infection. She asked me to get her some novels from the chariti

"The Alteration" by Kingsley Amis. If
it's still there tomorrow when I visit with my pal, then I'll pick it up. And if anyone really wants this tripe, mail me at the Archives and I'll get it mailed to you. Okay? I don't want it.

And one last thing: In John Fowles's silly novel "The Magus", a character sees a man who has had his genitals removed with wire-cutteres by the Nazis.

If you type in "slave castration" into your search engine, you might (might) get some interesting pix.

I know this is the wrong strand for this info, but what the hey? Eh? I have some quite unique eunuch pictures. Can someone tell me where to post'em? Not here, so it would seem.

See ya

Oh, and whatever you do this weekend, be happy and keep well.

Yours,

Nice Nicky (but don't get used to her)

PS. I've just checked this out again. I typed in "slave castration" and then accessed a site called "thedoghouse". As I say, if you can't get the picks (there are only two, but they are great and well worth the effort), mail me at the eunuch archives and I will dowload them or post'em, or whatever I am supposed to do. You really do wanna see these picks. I almost laughed my head off!)

I am resigning from this strand for a while. I am tired of it; and I have a lot of my own work to do. Responses have become boring, especially mine.

Be assured of one thing: I have enjoyed and valued every contribution that I have read.

I know that I said I would write up a list of all the novels; but, having read this strand recently (all of it) , I find that it is too complicated. How does one define "Castration in novels?" Is it a mention? Or is the castration central to the novel? Do the readers of this strand want to know about novels that mention castration? Or do they want to know about novels in which castration is a central part? Or do they wish for nothing more than the pages on which the castration occurs? Such a list is unquantifiable, and I am sorry to say that I can't do it right now.

All I, and other contributors have done, is mention what we have found. As I have already said, I am astonished how few works really deal with eunuchs. Maybe all the male novelists are too scared/embarrassed; and the females too scared/embarrassed?

There are mentions of castrations and eunuchs in all the books we have shared here. But where are the real eunuch novels? (With the exceptions of the obvious ones posted, there seem to be far too few).

Perhaps some of the contributors to the story-archives might start thinking about real novels about eunuchs (and I am not being rude here about your serials, because I haven't read all of them yet - I used to publish serials in a mag).

It may be, possibly, that few people want to associate themselves with a novel about castration in the real world. Understandable. Imagine being interviewed on TV: "So, what first drew you to castration as a subject?"

As a former publisher and editor of new writers, I set down a challenge: "Write the books I want to read" (C.S. Lewes)

See ya, luv ya,

Bye bye

Nicky

It does come to mind that perhaps we should do a selection of the best eunuch stories, and do them in a book. Well, why not? Think about the publicity we would gain? And remember, I am a former Fiction Editor, and I was once very, very good. This could work. Okay, wrong site, and I have resigned thissa, but thinkaboutit! Eh?

It's just a thought.

Bye now,

Nicky

Shaun Hutson's novel 'Erebus' was one of my first encounters with castration/penectomy (probably a defining encounter), and is hard to top. A woman bites off her lover's penis and rips his scrotum to shreds with her nails. Very graphic. But aside from that castration features in untold numbers of erotic horror stories (see collections such as the 'Hot Blood' series, 'Love in Vein', 'Little Deaths', 'Dark Love' and even more general collections such as the 'Splatterpunks' series).

Thanks for that. I will check it out. Oh, and hello everyone. I'm back!

You are, nikdante, of course absolutely right. Shaun Hutson once said, when asked what his novels were about,: "Rape by chainsaw". I've only read "Renedages" and, hold on while I look at my booksheves, er, sorry, can't find it, but I think it began with the letter "C". Oh, I've just found my copy of "Renegades", So, what was the next book I read? Hold on while I check with Amazon. Amazon has helped. The book was "Captives", and is one of the most unpleasant books I have ever had the misfortune to encounter.

Hutson also, as you probably know, included one of the most sick expressions of male orgasm in one of his books. The girl in question was sucking off a corpse, and the corpse spunked maggots into her mouth.

Bet you're glad I told you this.

Bye,

Nicky

PS. I'll get "Erebus" and read it tomorrow.

oooops, yuck! there goes my fetish for necrophilia....

I guess so. Me too. Oh, and I am sorry if people will be upset by that post. Just don't read Shaun. Or do, because you know that you really will have to, now.

Nice to hear from you, by the way, krister.

Bye,

I think I remember that there are eunuchs mentioned in William Beckford's "Vathec". The American short-story writer (Clarke Ashton Smith) completed the novel.

Oh, and regarding my above post with the girl and the maggots.

Why has no one written in to ask why she was sucking off a corpse in the first place?

Bye
