Re: Burdizzo - don't try this at home.
To make the burdizzo work properly the cords have to be held with the fingers inside the burdizzo the whole time the burdizzo is in use.You can never let go...ever.The instuction book states this in bold print.
That is why they sell knee crutches for the burdizzo. The fingers have to hold the cords. So many operaters get the cords in the burdizzo close the jaws then let go to close it.Will only work 50 percent or less with high failure rate.
Burdizzo only makes a white mark in the scrotum which heals in a week.If done right there is no bleeding.
There is no need to do it twice on each cord.Once is enough if done right.
Nothing ever falls off or dries up.The testicles are simply absorbed from the inside out.
I dont understand any need for a emergency room. The damage is just bruised skin.I have never seen a burdizzo cut the skin. The dent might look like a cut to a novice but it is not cut.A little neosporin with painkiller and it heals fast.

Sorry, but I just don't get this talk of using a Burdizzo. As was discussed on numerious threads it is plain dangerious, ineffective, and very painful.

Re: Burdizzo - don't try this at home.
surgery hurts a lot more if no painkiller is used.
Burdizzo is only as good as the person operating it.I know of no one who has died from its use if done properly.
Surgery has its complications too.
The biggest complaint I have heard about the burdizzo is its failure rate.

Re: Burdizzo - don't try this at home.
15 years ago finding a doctor to do a orchiectomy was very hard.I had tried for 8 years gone to 25 urologists and came real close .The doctor discussed it with me and how he would do it then he chickened out and said he could not do it.The internet was very basic back then no help at all.I thought if I had several vasectomies it would damage my testicles so they had to be removed. After 2 vasectomies I gave up on that.
I find it strange that the doctors could not tell I already had a vasectomy. It did give me an idea that worked. When they inject the pain killer I noticed it lasts 2 or 3 hours.
I had my wife wait with the burdizzo for me at a motel down the street from the clinic. Then she applied the burdizzo over the vasectomy. We did this twice doing one testicle at a time.We could have done both testicles as there was no pain.I was not sure how much swelling and damage would be done so we played it safe and only did one at a time.A year later we did it again at the same clinic I gave a fake name. They never recognized me because the planned parenthood clinic has such a huge turnover. They also do it factory style on fridays and had 11 guys to do that day.I only had one testicle the last time i went in as the testicle from the year before had shrank alot.I thought I would get rejected. They had a female doctor and nurse doing the preps before they helped me onto the table. She never said a thing so I asked if I got a discount for having only one.No discount!!
It cost 120$ for the vasectomy and 40 $ for the motel room.
I have had 4 vasectomies in my life.
The last vasectomy did bleed a lot for a little while.I left huge blood spots on the floor. The nurse helped me pack it till it stopped.I dont know if that was related to the prior stuff or not.10 minutes later I was at our motel room and we did in my last testicle. It shrank up over the next couple of years.
I developed a hernia about 3 years later. The doctor who fixed that cleaned the cord and testicle remnants out for me all at the same surgery.
Was I desperate to get it done or what. The choices are so much better today. It is to bad there are not 4 kimmels spread across the 4 corners of the usa.

well sometimes in most everyones life,,we draw a line..Something tears at us so badly inside that we sometimes feel the need to do something, even if it is against our better judgement. That "I can't go on another day like this" feeling, this can range form shaving your head bald to suicide,,in this case
some may feel that "this" is the only recourse they have, not saying that it is right or wrong,,,people are going to do things no one can change that,,the only thing that can be done positive is to provide them with as much information as possible

I too had tried a vasectomy as a learning experience. What I find interesting is that none of the doctors noticed that your vas deferens had already been cut and removed! Perhaps I should try having another vastectomy.
At first I was puzzled why you used a Burdizzo imediately after having a vasectomy.... then I figured it out - you were still numb from the vasectomy so the pain of the Burdizzo was absent!
The thought occurs to me (I do have a few from time to time), that you could go make arrangements for a vasectomy, get prepped, and have them numb your genitals, but before they start the actual operation, tell them that you have changed your mind and leave. Now you would be ready for a DIY castration attempt without any pain! Sounds like a plan....

We did that before the days of the internet. topical lidocaine can be purchased on the internet now.Topical lidocaine does a excellant job numbing the scrotum. The operator has to where gloves to keep from getting knumb fingers.
The pain of the crushed cords is so brief it isnt worth the anethetic.

My preference is for injectable Lidocaine. It works better and lasts longer than topical preparations. --FLO--

Me too. Basically, I want a vasectomy that goes too far and removes too much!
