Since the link at the end of the stories for sending private messages to the author of a story is not working, I think that the EU should put a notice something like this in the story submision form:
Because of problems with the archive, if you want to see private feedback on your stories you will have to put an email address in the text of the story. (At the end would be best.)
You can get a free, private, secure email address by going to http://www.hushmail.com/.
Be sure to check the Story Reviews and Feedback forum for other feedback about your story.

I too tried to use an author email link and got dumped. It is possible my firewall is blocking this action, but I don't think so..
