Why should there only be two kinds of speeling right and wrong.... or is that rite and rong...... 👀 ???

English is a language that apropriates loan words from other languages, and then changes the spelling to make it even more iregular 😄 So if it's all right to change the spelling when the word gets adopted why should I wory about how to spell al the words I adopt.

Truely there are no absolute truths... even time is not constant 🙄

River,

Part of the charm of the EA is that each person speaks with their own voice. Having a person as an 'editor' will change your posts and may cause them to mean something slightly different from your original intention.

I have to admit that I do proof read stories for a couple of Authors on Nifty and unlike some 'editors' do not just correct spelling. The hardest part is to take a paragraph which is confused and try to tease out what the Author is trying to say and then suggest how it can be made clearer, without changing the storyteller's 'voice'. The saving grace is that the Authors review my suggestions and either accept them or reject them - sometimes they use what I say and re-write that part in their own words.

My advice is that the posts on the Archive are fine as they are.

LOL

I check on a lot of stuff, but don't edit tooo much. Better to let folks say things as they are for them. The only thing that gets me pissy is IM talk. Spell UR fKN Wds OUT or F-O. I'll shit can that crap. Just about anything else goes. 🙏

Yep! We're both old enough now to be your great grand sons.
