kristoff wrote: Thu Oct 05, 2006 4:30 am Still drives me nugging futts.

But it is manageable.

Worst times are unannounced, not just at habituated moments.

I even wake up sometimes craving a smoke.

And I never smoked (cigarettes) in bed.

Kristoff,

It will take years and years to get rid of the urge to smoke.

Some never do, but I did. It is a constant battle. Brace yourself and remain strong. The only time I smoke now is with a smiley...🚬

I stopped smoking 26 years ago. You can see what it has done for me. Oh, never mind. I was trying to encourage you. --FLO--

I applaud your intention to stop smoking. It is a tough addiction. However, you can deal with it. I admire people who do stop because it is difficult. It is okay to use all the patches and all the other means to stop that you need. They are healthier than the chemicals in the smoke.

Wishing you the best with one of the toughest addictions. Cigarette makers were nice enough to use additives to make the addiction more powerful. I have never smoked but grew up in a family where both parents smoked and 2 of my 3 siblings still smoke. I already had enough addictions so I did not learn to smoke.

Tobacco...brown pipe tobacco...I don't smoke the green/red stuff and I DON'T inhale.

I used I think it was zoloft, anyway you take the pills for 6 weeks and after about 5 you have quit. I only reached for a smoke a couple times over the next several months. It will be 5 years this thanksgiving.

I quit 2 days ago.....I'd like to say cold turkey but I went to a class on this.

You can choose your battle, I chose to kick the habit before I battle the nicotine.......however that said I'm only going through about 4 pieces of nicorette gum a day......the mornings are hardest of course..

I think by the end of the weekend I won't feel so weird.......

I can smell it too, oh boy and how.....sense of smell came back on strong.
