There are two types of pain you'll experience from the elastration bands -- while banded you'll begin to feel a growing ache in your lower abdomen which eventually feel like you're continuously being kicked in the nuts.
The worse pain, in my opinion, is when you remove the band after some time, and the pinched skin will sting like hell.
The rubber used for the elastrator bands is very stiff, and only the use of the tool makes it possible to put around the balls -- so it is quite a bit more intense than other banding (like tying with string, other elastic bands, or tape).

Re: green rubber band
In one of the cartoons, the nurse has apparently applied some oil, and she is telling the person that this will "help the band tighten."
Is this correct? Does oil help the rubber band to do its job more quickly, or more effectively?
Thanks,
