Who's up next for castration?

Post by Hash (imported) »

Maybe I'm ultra curious but I wonder how Dr. Kimmel stays in business, since his primary source of income seems to be from castration. Every week he castrates someone, sometimes more than one per week and more than one per day. I know he usually only operates on Mondays, Wednesdays, & Fridays, but two per day would be six per week at least. He probably does not do that many every week, but let's suppose he does four. That's 16 a month or 192 a year. That still might be a lot, but even if he does 150 a year, we are not hearing from those who are castrated. So who's scheduled next? Who was castrated last week? Very few tell us about their experience(s) and it's so beneficial to our community. Please write! Hash

Well I must admit this is not how I thought this thread was going to turn out.

And good luck to all of you embarking on that journey anyway!

Hash,

The people who post here are not the only clients of the good Doctor Kimmel. There are countless others who seek out his services who don't know the E. A. exists. This site is not for the mainstream men in American society. I wish it were, we would see more reality for the case of orchiectomy.

Reasons for castration are numerous. Cancer and tumors are just two examples for the case of castration. There are many more men seeking out castration than visitors at the Eunuch Archive. Castration is a normal and frequently suggested means of easing medical issues. You would be surprised how many orchiectomy procedures are performed in America on an annual basis.

Hopefully before I post again another member will research and bring us the estimated numbers of orchiectomy procedures performed annually in the U.S.A.

Hope this helps explains why we don't hear who is up next.

Take care Hash,

While I have tried very dilgently to find accurate numbers for the castrations performed annually in the United States, they are so very common that no one seems to be collecting statistics. The best I have been able to do has been extrapolation from the statistics for Medicare patients who are diagnosed with prostate cancer laid over the total number of prostate cancer patients diagnosed annually.

There are over 200,000 men diagnosed with prostate cancer each year. Of these, over 80,000 are castrated, chemically or surgically, within six months of diagnosis. (I can’t find figures for those castrated more than six months after initial diagnosis of prostate cancer.)

Over 20% of the castrations (more than 16,000 per year) are surgical castrations.

The drug costs for chemical castration are high enough that they account for the second highest Medicare Part B expenditure for pharmaceuticals each year – over $1,200,000,000 in 2003 alone! (That really is Billion!) Only cholesterol-lowering drugs account for more.

Just the prostate cancer surgical castrations alone would account for more than 40 per day, 365 days per year in the United States.

I have found no good figures yet on boys and young men (mostly 15 to 25) who lose both testicles to testicular cancer. I’ve seen estimates as high as 3,000 per year, and as low as 700. No one keeps statistics on accidents resulting in loss of both testicles either.

How many voluntary eunuchs are castrated each year? I would certainly like to hear some estimates from members of the Eunuch Archive. I’ve been trying to come up with a figure and hesitate to share what I have until I hear ideas from some others here. I don’t want to bias any figures that you might develop.

How many men in the United States lose both testicles each year? We can guess, with a great deal of confidence, that the number is between 17,000 and 21,000.

Thanks Jesus for the comprehensive estimation of castration numbers...

Without your input, where would we be. :)

Take care my friend,

It will make 1020kg to 1260kg of testicles every year, if average testicle weight is 30g.

I wonder who will take over, if anyone, once the good doctor is no longer in the business. As far as I know, there isn't an apprentice in the wings, waiting.

For those of us in the backward (non-metric) world, that comes to over a TON of testicles.
