Cycling team guys usally shave their legs, too.

During hot weather while working in really hot dry dusty conditions I would get terrible heat rash in the shaved area. The hair served as a cushion to prevent chafing in that area and help the sweat run off, acting as a cooler when it evaporates. Also it is very itchy when it grows back!
I don't like the hair, thats why I'm shaving. During hot weather I like to be shaved, because I feel better. I see the whole thing opposite to you, the sweat runs off without hair much better.
But, everybody is free to shave or not to shave. I've decided to shave, because I like it and I'm thinking I feel beter, when I'm shaved.
