Who Is Locking Me Out???

Hello board. I have always written with thought on these boards and I have not

flamed anyone. Yesterday I wrote my second posting urging mutuality and co-existence - hardly controversial. I am wondering if my posts have been tampered with. If they contain any remarks against ANY minority group who live peacefully or if flags or slogans have suddenly been added; please be aware that I may be the victim of an online attack. I can't tell.

This morning I checked my "Subscribed threads" only to find that on the following threads (at least) I am locked out:

"New Terrorist Plot" "If I were President" and "Daylight Saving". I have been able to access this board and my thread on Cycling and Lycra only. I was also able to open my Message Box for 1 Private Message.

So, what happens if I try and access the above 3 posts? I get a page from EA

saying:

1) Your user account may not have sufficient privileges to access this page.

Are you trying to edit someone else's post, access administrative features or some other privileged system {Answer, a firm NO to all of that!)

2) If you are trying to post, the administrator may have disabled your account, or it may be awaiting activation.

Seeing that I am a "Senior Member" I take great exception to both

a): Being Locked out

b) Having an innocent posting I replied to about Mozilla being turned into my

agreeing with hatred. I hate no-one and I don't misuse this site. As I have said many times I loathe hatred and agression and war. Anyone who knows me will soon realise if my posts have been 'doctored'.

c) I could understand if UK servers denied access to 2 of the above threads today to everyone because the situation needs cooling in cyberspace and not

'heating up'. However, I have been shut out by the EA.

I have checked on 3 different PCs and been locked out on all 3; I await an apology and an explaination. I repeat I never add flags or mention hatred to any minority group; especially all those who live peaceful and lawful lives.

Please restore my rights and provide me with a decent explaination. Many thanks.

I've discovered I've been locked out (and that include reading, folks) from

"Rogue States" thread too. What the heck is going on?? Have my posts been tampered with. I pointed out to a friend here today I loathe aggression and hatred and would never write or associate with any anti-semetic posting,

I also dislike flags as most people do in Britain, except on very special ocassions. If my avatar is changed or a Signature has been added, then I have been hacked.

You have not been locked out individually. The Political Discussion forum has been taken down, at least for now. You can't get in there, and neither can I, nor anyone else. Too much hateful venom flowing in there and folks need to calm down.

Just for the record, I take great exception to the EXISTENCE of the Political Forum.

The bulk of posts on the Archive are there, and have been for quite some time.

All this forum leads to is fighting and flaming. It does NOTHING for the benefit of the Archive.

So, I've said my bit there, I've said my bit to members, and I've come to a conclusion.

The Political Forum is back up. Have at it, one and all.

Paolo, Thank you for your posting. I hope that if any Board on the site cannot

run without being an asset to our reason d'etre then its contents might need

severe moderation before appearing online. I haven't been a great reader or

contributor to the various boards until the recent rise in global tension made me feel some comment was called for. Events move fast and emotions rise faster.

I dislike censorship but sometimes we need to impose self censorship online.

Writing texts hostile to communities simply for being what they are - for example, Jews is indefensible. Throwing bricks will not change minds.

I hope the Archive can find some calmness in the eye of this storm.

It was me who called for a vote on the future of the Jokes, remember?

Democracy won out and it still sits here on the Archive. We cannot stick our heads in the sand but......toleration has to be an important watch word here.

Hi folks members of the forum should be in sync with each other, many of us who have no testicles or non functioning testicles have a lot in common and we should be ready to share our experiences and help those who have less experience in these matters, as far as political views are concerned they vary so much, but if we are honest in our views and leave party politics at the door and comment on matters which effect the human side of life and our very existance, then this can be worthwhile. We should avoid being acromonious and be helpful with the aim of growing the body "EA" into a very worthwhile resource and a contact point venue for those who we know and those we dont know, we should hold out the hand of friendship to all any who cant do this have no place on this forum. So let us resolve to keep the up the "good work" and remember the time and effort put in by those who run and administer this forum for all our benifit I personally say Thank You all

I first came to the forum for fantasy, real exploration, and sound advice. I have moved from a deep interest in many of the primary topics, though I am still interested in all aspects of the forum. The political forum came as a bit of lagniappe (baker's dozen). I enjoyed it. However, the flaming and fighting bothers me.

I find myself posting and then deleting what I post. Sometimes, I think that is because I do change my mind. Often, I find that I need to modulate what I post. Other times, the reactions to what I post seem unfair or off topic. Anyway, I don’t sense much eunuch calm in some threads.

Yesterday, I felt good when the politcal forum went down. Maybe, it ought to go. Yet, this is the most intelligent forum in which I participate. Most of the posts in the political forum are playful and thoughtful.

The entire Eunuch Archive has been a great help to me. I had low testosterone

(from medication) for a long time (I probably still do from aging). Low testosterone had a major effect on my life. HRT made me appreciate what I had lost.The fantasy sections of the forum did strike a note with my experience and fantasy life. Yet, I rarely refer to other sections of the forum.

I do enjoy the political forum. However, I understand that it may be out of place here. I felt relief when it closed yesterday.

There's nothing wrong with political discussion. Some people have taken it too far. To call someone scum because they don't agree with you is unacceptable. I would see such people banned from the boards. Possibly that would keep the discussion at a more acceptable level. Just because one passionately believes in one point of view doesn't make it right. It's still a point of view. Some people on this board -- in my opinion -- have gone off the deep end and are floundering, over their heads, drowning in theories of conspiracy, whether Zionist or otherwise. The last person of note that I remember blamed all the world's problems on a Zionist conspiracy was Hitler. Jews are like any other people. There are good ones and there are bad ones.

I commend anyone that objects to the lose of innocent human life, but the response by some people on this board to the loss of life in Lebanon has been disproportionate to the loss of life that goes on everyday elsewhere in the world. I wonder at their focus on that -- at their vehemence. A hundred innocent people die everyday in Iraq. Genocide, affecting millions, is occurring in Darfur, but no one even mentions Darfur. Is it because they're Black? Is it because the Jews aren't killing them? Certain people have protested that they aren't anti Semitic, but given the vehemence of their posts, I have to believe that they are, especially when they talk about Zionist conspiracies. It's one thing to be passionate about your beliefs. It's another to become crazy over them.
