When I am replying to a new thread I have SEVERAL times clicked the new thread button by mistake because it is on the left (the 'first' button as it were).
Where replying to an existing thread should it look like:
[New Thread] [Reply] ---> the way it is now, or
[Reply] [New Thread]
Does anyone have problems with the 'new thread' and 'reply buttons'
Re: Does anyone have problems with the 'new thread' and 'reply buttons'
Run that by me one more time, real slow? I guess you can explain it later...
Now I get it! I haven't hit it by mistake yet, though!

Bboy,
for my part, the answer is No!
Even though I tend to be a bit cack-handed I haven't managed to hit the wrong button - yet.
LOL

Re: Does anyone have problems with the 'new thread' and 'reply buttons'
Hey bboy,
I'm looking at this screen, and for some unknown reason, I instinctively reach for the button on the inside of the column.
It could be from a learned habit of reaching for the "first word" used in a sentence - read from left to right in most all Western European language bases. I tried this "test" with a left-handed friend, and he had the same problem: we reach for the button we "think" is the usual placement for a reply button, and catch ourselves using the New Thread button instead.
Soooooo, just to be at a safe distance from the problem, I had another friend of mine get into a conversation where she was using Hebrew mostly (being lingual is so much fun:p ..tee hee!!), and then I asked her to "automatically" respond to a notation on the screen that I had masked off (using the EA format as a guide). Funny, she reached for the proper button each and every time. OK, OK, so I'm not an expert, but perhaps it might be worthwhile to look into these possibilities. (Oh, and it also went the same was for an Arabic-speaking friend of mine, who also 'volunteered' to guinea-pig the item for me...bless em all!:D - both forms of Arabic and Hebrew are written and read from right to left).
Enough "scientific experimentation"...it just goes to show ya that if ya want to learn sumtin bad enuf, yul get it rite sooooner or later on.

Love ya!!

Re: Does anyone have problems with the 'new thread' and 'reply buttons'
I don't think there's any real problem with the softeware. The one problem I'm having is not beiong able to see the buttons or the legend on them.
This is because of a combination of not very good eyesight, lack of contrast and something wrong with my vdu. I have the contrast and brightness full up and it's still not enough.
For example, I'm typing this on a dark grey background and can't even read what I've typed. Please excuse any typos.
Best regards
Kortpeel

Re: Does anyone have problems with the 'new thread' and 'reply buttons'
I have sent Kortpeel a couple of private messages just now on this issue, but just to verify that I am seeing the same thing as the rest of you --
The gray that's used in the alternating color bars and the text area background when you type a message, to me on my computer, looks like a light gray with black text that has good contrast (to me).
If you want to check out a different color scheme go to your user control panel, edit options, down to style set (2nd from the bottom) and you can choose the 'high contrast' set I just created for Kortpeel to try out. I will probably come up with a few more sets just for the fun of it too! :p
