Yes, we do know something about elastrator castration. It is NOT a good idea for human males. There are horror stories and even the few relatively successful tries seem to be just loaded with unpleasant complications, from chronic pain to hospital stays. --FLO--

Let's say it works: For days or weeks you'll have a dead, rotting stinking, hunk of meat attached to your groin. That's after enduring unbearable pain while your balls die. Of course, you'll have to keep the band on until your balls fall off to prevent gangrene, and you'll probably have to go to the hospital to have the dead flesh trimmed off, even if you don't have complications. With complications, your hospital bills are likely to run into the 1000's of dollars, much more than a trip to Philly would cost.

What works on animals doesn't usually work so well on humans. Helping an uncle once during round-up on his small ranch, I watched him castrate calves. He cut off the bottom of their scrotum, grabbed their balls, and pulled, ripping them out. That works for calves. I don't recommend it for humans. (We had them that night for dinner -- pretty tasty)

If you're set on being castrated, go see Kimmel before he retires -- soon, I would suspect. You can't beat his prices.

You've received good advice from people with experience. Let me add my two cents, don't use it. Some of us have tried and failed, some have succeeded with it, but as you've been told, they ended up in the hospital with bills exceeding thousands of dollars, plus a lot of embarrassment. Make sure that you're not into some fantasy about castration, because if you are and you castrate yourself, you will be sorry for a long long time. I suggest you find a female psychologist and start bearing your soul, find out why you want to castrate yourself. If your psych agrees that castration might be your best solution, go see Dr. Kimmel. One thing that works as well on humans as on animals is tetracycline (terramyacin / auramyacin) antibiotic soluble powder. You can drink it, mix it thick into a paste for topical wounds. They used to use it on the critters...and me.

Are you advocating tetracycline be used as an alternative to the elastrator? I have to confess I'm ignorant about it. If it's an antibiotic, how will it effect castration? Why aren't more wannabe's trying it? Hash

It works on mixed species, unlike elastrators, which don't work well on humans. As an antibiotic it has NOTHING to do with causing castration. The only thing it would do would be to help prevent / cure infection of the wounds.
