Once you give into a wheel chair you are bound to it, never to walk again.
Don't do it, fight it with every breath you have.

Wolfie, have you considered a cane. Use it on your stronger side to take pressure off the sore hip. You would look quite distinguished with a cane. Also a form of defense to keep you safe. If you became wheel chair bound you may not qualify for a subsidized senior apartment but may need to be in assisted living. A senior apartment would give you the lifestyle you want but assisted living is more on schedule of other residents. Of course this can vary state to state and facility to facility.

I was low on food today so I had planned to walk to the bus stop and take the bus to Walmart. However, the leg spasms were so pailful, I had to go back home after only walking a half a block. I'd call a taxi but I'm in too much pain to make it to the ATM.

Are you taking anything to help?

I just now got back from the ER. They gave two pills and a shot and two Rx's: Norco and Medrol

My question was are you using ibuprofen daily or salonpas patches on the hip that hurts. Over The Counter meds will not take away all the pain but take the edge off so you can function.
Norco contains a combination of acetaminophen and hydrocodone. Both medicines are pain killers. Hydrocodone is an opioid pain medication. An opioid is sometimes called a narcotic. Acetaminophen is a less potent pain reliever that increases the effects of hydrocodone. Norco is used to relieve moderate...
Acetaminophen has been associated with cases of acute liver failure, at times resulting in liver transplant and death. Most of the cases of liver injury are associated with the use of acetaminophen at doses that exceed 4000 milligrams per day, and often involve more than one acetaminophen containing product.
Medrol, Methylprednisolone is a steroid that prevents the release of substances in the body that cause inflammation. Methylprednisolone is used to treat many different inflammatory conditions such as arthritis, lupus, psoriasis, ulcerative colitis, allergic disorders, gland (endocrine) disorders, and conditions...
Both should certainly help and I do not know how long the meds were prescribed. When they run out it is sometimes good to alternate from acetaminophen for one dose and then use ibuprofen in between times. One kills your liver and the other your kidneys so it is good to alternate. My arthritic client has received some pain control with Salonpas patches directly on the areas that cause pain. Most stores now have their store brand at less cost.

I still say someone just needs to take Wolfie in and share expenses together. I can not do it unfortunately because of Bobbie. He sure needs someone to help him and look after him on a daily basis. I do feel badly for him.

I limped over to Denny's for Thanksgiving dinner. $10 for several slices of canned turkey loaf, boxed dressing, broccoli, mashed potatoes, a spoonful of cranberry sauce and two pieces of garlic bread. I would have been better off buying a Stouffers TV turkey dinner.

The only shopping I did on Black Friday was going to Walgreens to pick up three Rx's. On there plus side, they only cost me $3.30

I've noticed that in the last three years my appreciation of music is changing: I seem to be more into both Fleetwood Mac and Country music.
Anybody else here like Country music?
